Additional Persecution News from China – January 9, 2019 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 3 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 3 were illegally arrested.

1. [Haiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fan Cuizhen Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Fan Cuizhen, from Lutouquan Village, Facheng Town, was sentenced to a one-year-and-ten-month prison term in January 2019.

She was arrested on her way to work by officers from the Fushanlu Police Station, Licang District, Qingdao City, on the morning of March 29, 2018, and taken to the Pudong Detention Center, in Qingdao City. She was officially arrested in May, and tried in November 2018.

2. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Gai Guangsheng Officially Arrested

Mr. Gai Guangsheng, in his 70s, from Tananbo Village, Jiangtuan Town, was officially arrested by the Laiyang City Procuratorate on January 3, 2019. He is being held in the Laiyang City Detention Center. His family received the arrest warrant from the Jiangtuan Police Station on January 7.

3. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fu Huazhi Arrested

Ms. Fu Huazhi, from Cuijia Village, Shengcheng Neighborhood, was reported for talking to others about Falun Gong on January 7, 2019. She was arrested by officers from the Wenjia Police Station. Her home was ransacked.

4. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yuan Qiongxiu Detained for Six Months

Ms. Yuan Qiongxiu, 66, has been held in the No. 221 Cell, Yongxing Detention Center since June 6, 2018.

5. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Zhengling Detained

Ms. Wang Zhengling, from Xunshansuo Village, Xunshan Town, was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong in town. She was arrested, fined 10,000 yuan, and detained for 15 days.

6. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yanqiu on Hunger Strike

Ms. Li Yanqiu was arrested on December 14, 2018. She is being held in the Jinzhou City Women's Detention Center. She has been on a hunger strike for about 20 days, and is in poor physical condition.

7. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lin Xiuzhu Detained

Ms. Lin Xiuzhu was arrested when she was distributing Falun Gong materials about 20 days ago. She was detained and spent about 10 days in a detention center. She has not returned home. Her whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lan Lihua and Ms. Shan Qinshu Taken Into Custody

Ms. Lan Lihua from Sujiatun District was arrested on November 6, 2018, and Ms. Shan Qinshu, also from Sujiatun District, was arrested on December 8, 2018. Both practitioners were arrested at home by Song Zhenghe, an officer from the Sujiatun Domestic Security Division. They were taken to the Shenyang City No. 1 Detention Center.
