(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xing Guangming was arrested by officers from the Pingxiangmen Police Station, Fancheng District, on June 7, 2018. Mr. Xing is currently being held at the No. 2 Detention Center.
A few days after the 2017 Chinese New Year, Mr. Xing set up a display board to show people that Falun Gong is being practiced around the world. For this he was arrested and taken to the Fancheng Detention Center. He was released due to health issues, but was placed under house arrest.
He was arrested again on June 7, 2018 for refusing to write a guarantee statement promising to give up his belief in Falun Gong, while he was held at the No. 2 Detention Center in Xiangyang City.
It has been more than seven months since that arrest.
Three Family Members Have Died
Several of Mr. Xing's family members who also practiced Falun Gong were arrested and mistreated for clarifying the truth about the practice and the persecution of practitioners. Three of them have died. Mr. Xing has been arrested three times, and taken to detention centers and forced labor camps.
Mr. Xing's wife, Nie Zhenlan, has been arrested three times. Ms. Nie went on a hunger strike at the detention center. The guards handcuffed her and force-fed her for more than two weeks. They didn't remove the feeding tube until her hands swelled up.
When Ms. Nie's sister went to the detention center to bring her home, she cried upon seeing her condition and thought that Ms. Nie was going to die. But Ms. Nie regained her health after doing the Falun Gong exercises for a few days. Unfortunately, the persecution took a toll on Ms. Nie's body and she died in 2016.
Mr. Xing's son was not a practitioner, but he was arrested and taken to the brainwashing center in Wuhan. He was fired from his job after being released.
Mr. Xing's younger brother, Xing Guangjun, was arrested in 2001 and sentenced to five years in Shayang Prison. The guards made him sit outside on a concrete slab during the winter. They handcuffed him to a metal bed frame and deprived him of sleep. Four inmates grabbed him by the wrists and ankles, and threw him against a metal gate, which caused multiple injuries to his body. The guards also injected him with unknown substances. He died in 2006.
Mr. Xing Guangjun's wife, Tang Jianhua, was arrested and detained twice for practicing Falun Gong. She died in a car accident in 2016.
“Only Falun Gong practitioners are this selfless”
Mr. Xing Guangming worked for a Chinese herbal medicine company in Xiangyang City. When the company assigned employee housing, Mr. Xing chose to stay in a dilapidated unit, and let others take the nicer units. When sharing fruit, he let others pick first and he took whatever was left.
Mr. Xing's wife, Nie Zhenlan, was very ill, but became healthy after she began practicing Falun Gong. She was kind and helpful to her coworkers and neighbors. When Mr. Xing's mother became incontinent, Ms. Nie bathed her and washed her clothes and bedding without complaint. Ms. Nie's coworker, of Christian faith, said, “Even I couldn't do what she does. Only Falun Gong practitioners are this selfless.”
