(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Xu Wenguo Taken to Prison

Mr. Xu Wenguo was arrested on October 7, 2017, and taken to the Nanshan Detention Center. He was sentenced to a two-year prison term by the Shulan City Court in November 2018.

Mr. Xu is being held in the Gongzhuling Prison.

2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xia Guizhen Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Xia Guizhen and her daughter Ms. Li You were arrested at home by officers from the Gaoxin Police Station and Domestic Security Division in December 2017. They were both taken to the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.

Ms. Xia was tried and sentenced to two years in prison by the Changchun High-tech Industrial Development Zone Court on January 19, 2019. Ms. Li was released that afternoon.

3. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Fulan and Ms. Chen Zhilian Tried

Ms. Cheng Fulan, in her 60s, and Ms. Chen Zhilian, 73, from Emeishan City were arrested by officers from the Jiuli Town Police Station on June 8, 2018. They have been held in the Quanfu Town Regulatory Center in the Shizhong District for over five months.

Both practitioners were tried by the Emeishan Court on the morning of January 22, 2019. No verdict has been announced.

4. [Dazhu County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yu Shenghua and Ms. Zhang Qimei Arrested

Mr. Yu Shenghua and Ms. Zhang Qimei were arrested by officers from the Dongnan Police Station in Zhuyang Town on the evening of January 26, 2019, when they were talking to people about Falun Gong.

5. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Jiang Zhaoying Detained

Ms. Jiang Zhaoying was arrested on January 21, 2019, when she was talking to people about Falun Gong. The police confiscated her Falun Dafa books.

Ms. Jiang was taken to the Hefei City Detention Center.

6. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Chen Jing Taken to Prison

Ms. Chen Jing was arrested by officers from the Binhu Police Station on May 4, 2018, but was released on bail after being fined 1,000 yuan. She was recently sentenced to a nine-month prison term by the Jianye District Court, and taken to the Nanjing City Women's Prison.

Ms. Chen is very weak, suffering from high blood pressure and asthma. She has not been allowed family visits.

7. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Lu Shiming Taken to Prison

Ms. Lu Shiming from the Jianye District was sentenced to a two-year prison term by the Jianye Court. She was taken to the Jiangsu Province Women's Prison on January 19, 2019.

8. [Xiangshan County, Zhejiang Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Wang Jinhua, Ms. Chen Cai'e, Ms. Ke Xiulian, and Ms. Ke Xiuyue, from Shipu Town, were arrested by officers from the Xiangshan County Domestic Security Division on January 27, 2019.

The four practitioners were taken to the Xiangshan Detention Center.

9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Chen Zhuo Detained

Mr. Chen Zhuo was arrested by officers from the Wuchang District Police Department and the Shuiguohu Police Station on the evening of January 8, 2019. His home was ransacked.

Mr. Chen is being held in the Wuchang Detention Center.

10. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Guixiang Taken to Prison

Ms. Yu Guixiang from Hualai Town was arrested by officers from the Hualai Police Station, Huanren County, in June 2017. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Yu was later sentenced to two years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan by the Huanren Court. She was taken to prison.

11. [Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Gao Chunrong, from the Hailar District, was sentenced to a four-year prison term. Mr. Zhang Wanbo was sentenced to a three-year prison term with four years probation, and fined 5,000 yuan. They both appealed, but the intermediate court upheld the original verdicts without a hearing. Ms. Gao was taken to prison.

Mr. Wang Daxiao and Ms. Wu Yan, from the Hailar District, were each sentenced a three-year prison term by the Hailar Court. Ms. Wu was taken to the Hohhot Women's Prison.
