(Minghui.org) The Tianjin City Police Department coordinated with local police stations, Domestic Security Divisions, and Internet police departments to arrest at least 19 Falun Gong practitioners on December 4, December 7, and December 12, 2018. The arrested practitioners were from Dongli, Baodi, Beichen, Wuqing, Hebei, Binhai New, and Hedong Districts.

The practitioners who were arrested included Yan Zhenfen, Gao Fengcun and his wife Tang Zhongyan, Guo Wenjuan, Yu Boqun, Ma Shufen, Su Fengzhi, Xu Yonglan, Liu Rehan, Deng Liangqun, Zhao Wannian, An Chunyun, Huang Yu'e and her husband (not a practitioner), Hao Liushun, Han Guiying, Wang Chunhong, Song Wenkai and Zhang Hongru. Other practitioners who were either harassed or had their home searched and belongings confiscated included Guo Yonghong, Bai Shuqin, An Chunrong, Li Yanxia, He Daiping, Zhao Xiang, Wang Shijun, Zhao Yan, Sun Yuanlong, and Wang Fuli.

Practitioners Yu Boqun, Xu Yonglan, Su Fengzhi, Wang Chunhong, Song Wenkai, Zhang Hongru, Gao Fengcun, and Yu'e's husband were released the same day. Yan Zhenfen, Zhao Wannian, An Chunyun, Huang Yu'e, and Tang Zhongyan were released a few days later after being illegally detained. Liu Rehan was already approved for arrest, and the whereabouts of five practitioners are still unknown.

Ms. Tang Zhongyan in Coma after Force Feedings, Injections, Beatings

Ms. Tang Zhongyan was illegally arrested and detained at the Baodi District Detention Center on December 4, 2018. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was force-fed and injected with unidentified drugs. She was also beaten with an electric baton.

Ms. Tang's internal organs were damaged due to the electric shocks and drugs. She is now extremely weak. She was released on December 25, 2018, and has been in a coma since December 26.

Elderly Ms. Ma Shufen Arrested

Ms. Ma Shufen, who is nearly 80 years old, was arrested by officers from the Xincun Police Station in Beichen District on December 4. Her home was ransacked and her belongings confiscated. Ms. Ma had been harassed by the Xincun Police Station and local community office many times before. She is now illegally detained at the Beichen District Detention Center.

Ms. Liu Rehan Approved for Arrest

Ms. Liu Rehan, a teacher from Jixianli Elementary School in Hebei District, was arrested on the night of December 3 and has since been detained at the Hebei District Detention Center. The local authorities approved the arrest. Ms. Liu had previously been illegally sentenced to forced labor in 2001 for practicing Falun Gong, which also led to the breakup of her marriage. At that time, Ms. Liu's 79-year-old mother was left alone at home without anyone to care for her.

Practitioners in Beihai New District Arrested

Seven practitioners were arrested, harassed, and had their homes ransacked and their belongings confiscated within two days by officers from the Beihai New District Police Station and the Tianjin Domestic Security. Seven to ten police officers participated in each arrest. The police also focused on checking the practitioners' cell phones. Practitioners Guo Yonghong, Bai Shuqin, An Chunrong, and Li Yanxia were harassed. Practitioners An Chunyun, Zhao Wannian, and Huang Yu'e were arrested and detained for days before being released.

Ms. An Chunyun was arrested on December 12 as she was preparing to leave for work. Twelve police officers hid and rushed out to arrest her. She was detained at the Gulin Police Station.

That same morning, Mr. Zhao Wannian was also arrested by Domestic Security officers from Dagang District. The police also searched his home and took away his computer, cell phone, and calendars which contained information about Falun Gong. He was detained at the Taiping Town police station.

Ms. Huang Yu'e was arrested together with her husband (who is not a practitioner) at about 7:30 a.m. that morning while she practiced the exercises at home. The couple's home was searched. Six people from the Dagang District Domestic Security Division, the Hongqilu Police Station, and the local community office participated in the arrest. Ms. Huang's husband was released at noon.

Meanwhile, ten officers from the Tianjin Domestic Security Division, the Internet police force, and the local police station broke into Mr. Guo Yonghong's home at 7:30 a.m. on December 12. The officers were carrying a video recorder. They demanded to see whether Mr. Guo's cellphone contained any software to circumvent China’s Internet blockade. Mr. Guo refused to cooperate with them and tried to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. The police did not leave until 10:00 a.m.

Police from Wuqing District Harass Many Practitioners

Three police officers from the Quanxinglu Police Station in Wuqing District harassed Mr. Wang Shijun at his home at 10:00 a.m. on December 7, 2018.

That afternoon, Dajianchang Town Police Station officers in the Wuqing District and three other officers broke into Ms. He Daiping's home. They showed a search warrant and returned on the night of December 11 to harass her again.

Other practitioners who had their homes searched and their belongings confiscated by the police included Xu Yonglan from Dongmaquan, and Zhao Xiang, Zhao Yan, and Sun Yuanlong from Huanghuadian.
