Don’t Let Human Attachments Hinder Us from Cultivating
(Minghui.org) The evil nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is clearly displayed in the widespread arrests of Falun Dafa practitioners, particularly during the Party’s so-called “sensitive days.” The reason why this is still happening may be that some practitioners are still not playing the lead role and thus allowing the old forces to use their human notions as an excuse to persecute them.
Some practitioners are so fearful of the “sensitive days” that they keep a low profile and wait for those days to pass. They only think of protecting themselves instead of doing what a Fa-rectification Dafa practitioner should do.
The CCP has imposed “sensitive days” on people via vicious campaigns throughout history. If we have the thought that the evil is more wicked during these “sensitive days,” then we are acknowledging it. We should definitely pay attention to safety and take safety measures, but as practitioners on the path toward godhood, we should let go of any notions the Party imposes on us.
Then, there are practitioners who are concerned about current affairs. They spend a lot of time reading about the trade war between the U.S. and China and about the Hong Kong protests. In fact, whether it's the trade war or the Hong Kong protests, they are only manifestations in the human world of the changes taking place in the greater cosmos. The driving force behind them is the Fa-rectification of the universe. It is understandable if we read the news for truth-clarification purposes, but we should not forget our priorities or become addicted to it.
A practitioner once shared, “Many people are hoping that we will have another ‘Justice Bao,’ that the CCP will disintegrate, or an external force will overthrow the Party.” This notion is not applicable during the cosmos's Last Havoc. It is like saying Monk Tang from “Journey to the West” should have stopped moving forward whenever he encountered a tribulation, that he should have just waited for some external force to eliminate his tribulations, or for the devil to turn good of its own accord, so that he could continue on his journey without any hindrance.
There are also practitioners who feel that the CCP has started to disintegrate, so they relax, sit back and wait for the end.
“Actually, if you think about it, the cultivators of the past didn’t dare to slack off for even a second, and that was when it took an entire lifetime to complete the journey. So how can Dafa disciples—who are to achieve the celestial rank of a being who is saved by Dafa and who have the most convenient cultivation way—not be even more diligent when they are given this most glorious honor of Fa-validating cultivation in a brief cultivation period that passes in the blink of an eye?” (“The Closer to the End, the More Diligent You Should Be,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress Vol. III)
Practitioners have their mission to complete. Not wanting to endure the pressure and hoping for it to end as soon as possible is an attachment.
We know that it requires four or more police officers to persecute a practitioner. It is obvious that the evil doesn’t have enough strength left and is making up the difference with numbers. One or two officers are often restrained by practitioners’ righteous thoughts, and they will come to learn more about the facts of the persecution. Even if there were many officers, we can still overcome the tribulation if we do well, as we have Master and the Fa. The reason many practitioners didn’t do well in these situations is because their human side was confused.
“The evil Communist Party is terribly notorious now, as you know. Even those who hold power in communist states aren’t proud of it anymore; it’s just a means for them to keep power. They can’t think of a way forward, yet they’re reluctant to let go of the reins. So that’s how things are. Nobody really believes in it now. Even though the communist specter is ruling the world, it faces the same predicament as the Party does in this world, and it is slowly being decimated. Whatever state it may appear to be in, or however things may go in society, Dafa disciples have the leading role in this world—the stage is yours.” (“2018 Fa Teaching Given in Washington, D.C.”)
I sincerely hope that we always take the Fa as teacher, play the lead role, and don’t let our human attachments hinder us from cultivating.
