(Minghui.org) Four Raoyang County, Hebei Province residents were arrested between June and August 2019 after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Below are the details of each case.

Ms. Wang Jinghao Force Fed

Ms. Wang Jinghao, 62, was arrested on June 28, 2019 outside of an elementary school after being reported for talking to the students about Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang held a hunger strike for 32 days and was force fed four times while being detained at Hengshui City Detention Center.

She developed high blood pressure and a severe heart condition. She suffered from dizziness and had difficulty breathing. Despite her condition, the police kept her there for another two weeks before releasing her.

Ms. Wang later went to request the return of her electric bicycle that was confiscated from her home following her arrest. Officer Wang Zhanmeng refused to return it and threatened her, “Do you want to be detained again?”

Mr. Li Yanyu Forced to Wear Shackles for 35 Days

Mr. Li Yanyu, 64, was arrested on July 9, 2019 by officers from Wugongxiang Police Station. The police didn't allow his 88-year-old father, who lives with him, to be present when they ransacked his home, nor did they provide a list of confiscated items afterwards. The more than 10,000 yuan in cash that Mr. Li kept at home was gone after the raid.

Mr. Li was later sent to Raoyang County Detention Center and forced to wear shackles for 35 days, until he was released on August 14, 2019.

Ms. Yin Yachan’s Diabetes Recurred

Ms. Yin Yachan, 57, was arrested on July 16, 2019 by officers from Chengguanxiang Police Station, after she was reported for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. She has been held at Hengshui City Detention Center since.

It was reported that Ms. Li is under tremendous mental pressure and often cries about her ordeal. Her diabetes that was cured after she took up Falun Gong in 2012 also recurred. The poor living conditions in the detention center only made her condition even worse.

Ms. Yang Zhongshen Beaten on the Street

Ms. Yang Zhongshen was arrested on August 28, 2019. A group of officers beat her on the street, with one of them sitting on her. She was detained at Hengshui City Detention Center for 38 days.

Ms. Yang’s arrest came amidst the busy harvest season of her family’s grape farm and also shortly after her mother had undergone a major surgery. Her father, in his 80s, was left on his own and experiencing severe anxiety.
