A Kind Prison Guard Protects Falun Dafa Practitioners
(Minghui.org) Many prison guards are beholden to the 610 Office and the Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC) at different levels to carry out the persecution as ordered by the former Party leader Jiang Zemin.
But one prison guard I met understood the truth of Falun Dafa and was very sympathetic toward us. He protected us within his power.
The prison where I was detained required every inmate to memorize the prison rules between March and April 2014. But, as a Falun Dafa practitioner, I was innocent and should not be held in a jail.
So, I refused to memorize the prison rules. The convict leader instigated the collaborators to use this as an excuse to persecute me.
One collaborator tried to trick me, and said, “You only need to memorize one or two rules.” I refused and said, “I am not a prisoner. I am not guilty.”
He threatened me and said that the convicts leader told him to beat me if I did not obey. I ignored him.
The prison guard whose family name was Wang came over at this time. I reported to him.
He took us to his office and told me to sit down, surrounded by a half-circle of prisoners. Wang asked me what happened.
I said: “I am not guilty, and I am not a prisoner. Also, I am too old to memorize the prison rules.”
Wang went on to ask: “Can you recite your Master's articles?” I said yes.
Wang was amused and said in a smile, “You can't memorize the prison rules, but you can recite your master's articles. Go ahead with your practice.”
My trouble just went away like that. The attitude of the collaborator changed too.
He said to me: “I didn't hit you, did I?” I used the opportunity to tell him the truth about Falun Dafa, and helped him quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations.
A Falun Dafa practitioner was transferred to our prison in 2015. The prison guards and inmates used various methods to try to put the prison uniform on him, but did not succeed.
One day, Wang called the practitioner over for a conversation. The practitioner said, “We Falun Dafa practitioners did not commit any crime. It makes sense that we do not wear an inmate uniform.”
He went on to say, “Also, if I don't wear a uniform, it will not harm you. Instead, you will be blessed.”
He talked to Wang about Falun Dafa for two or three hours. Wang did not give that practitioner a hard time for this.
Once, four inmates took the practitioner into a room alone. They forcibly took off his clothes and poked holes everywhere in the underwear and outerwear to punish him for not wearing the prison uniform.
The practitioner and I decided to talk to Wang and deny this persecution. We found Wang and told him what happened.
Many inmates were around when Wang, who was quite embarrassed, asked me what I thought about this. I said, “We Falun Dafa practitioners did not commit any crime. I am strongly against abuse like this.”
Wang turned around and told the practitioner, “I did not ask anyone to do this to you.” At this time, a convict leader came forward and voluntarily admitted he ordered several prisoners to do this.
Wang went on to say: “I have been asked to assign you work, and I came up with this idea: You (practitioners) do light work so I can finish my duty. I respect your Master and Dafa, and I take care of your practitioners. I also did that.”
The people present were silent after hearing this.
Wang understood the facts about Falun Dafa, and treated practitioners well in that brutal environment.
