Additional Persecution News from China – December 24, 2018 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 4 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 3 were illegally arrested.

1. [Tai'an City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Liping Detained

Ms. Zhang Liping, 63, a retiree from the Tai'an City Winery, was taken to forced labor camps twice, and sentenced to four years in prison for practicing Falun Gong.

Ms. Zhang was arrested again by officers from the Taishan Police Department on December 3, 2018, and was held in the Tai'an Detention Center for 15 days.

2. [Ju County, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Hongju Displaced

Ms. Yu Hongju was arrested by Ge Weixin, political head of the Xiazhuang Police Station, and other plainclothes officers on the morning of September 17, 2018. Her Falun Dafa books were confiscated. She managed to escape, but had to leave home to avoid further persecution.

Ms. Yu's husband was arrested and taken to the Xiazhuang Police Station. He was threatened, and released 30 hours later.

3. [Laiwu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Chuanying and Mr. Ren Xiuying Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Chuanying and Ms. Ren Xiuying were arrested by officers from the Chengzipo Police Station in October 2018. They were tried by the Gangcheng District Court on December 20.

Ms. Wang was sentenced to a three-year prison term, while Ms. Ren was sentenced to a 16-month prison term.

Ms. Zhang Xiujuan was arrested at home by officers from the Shouguang Domestic Security Division on June 3, 2018. She was brutally beaten, and her body was covered in bruises.

Ms. Zhang will be tried on January 3, 2019.

5. [Jimo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Jianchun Taken Into Custody

Ms. Li Jianchun, from Qingzhongbu Village, Qiji Town, was arrested by officers from the Qiji Police Station on November 22, 2018, when she was talking to people about Falun Gong. She is being held in the Pudong No. 2 Detention Center.

6. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Zhou Wanxia Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhou Wanxia from the Bozhou District was arrested at her daughter's home by the Bozhou police in 2017. She was sentenced to a two-year-and-six-month prison term in 2018.

7. [Shifang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xiao Jiying and Ms. Wang Jirong Arrested

Ms. Xiao Jiying and Ms. Wang Jirong from Yinfeng Town were arrested by officers from the Yinfeng Police Station on December 21, 2018, when they were talking to people about Falun Gong. They have since returned home.

Ms. Li Yulan was tried by the Bairin Right Banner Court on the morning of December 19, 2018.
