(Minghui.org) Ms. Geng Xiuqin went to Bei Village, Yuquan Town, to hand out Falun Gong informational desktop calendars on December 7, 2018. Even though she had to walk with crutches from a previous injury, she braved the journey. She was arrested, however, after the police received reports from a villager.

Ms. Geng, 55, is a railway quarry worker from Kuangshan Village, Yuquan Town, Acheng District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province.

She was injured when she was a young adult. At work one day, she fell down and her legs were seriously injured. She soon found out that her lower body was paralyzed, and, unable to walk, she was bedridden for years.

Living in poverty, she could not afford treatment. She tried a variety of qigong practices to cure her legs, but nothing worked.

Someone she knew who practiced Falun Gong recommended the practice to her in 2010. Not long after she started practicing Falun Gong, she was able to stand up and walk with crutches.

After she experienced what she felt to be a miracle, she could not help but tell everyone she ran into how she benefited from practicing Falun Gong.

When she was arrested on December 7, three officers from the Yuquan Town Police Department converged on her. The officers then went to her home and ransacked it.

On December 22, an officer who handled Ms. Geng’s case told her husband she had been placed under criminal detention. The officer also told her family to pick up the criminal detention notice and bring her some clothes.

Ms. Geng's husband was intimidated and, out of fear of the CCP, placed all the blame on his wife's practicing Falun Gong, ignoring the fact that she had recovered from years of paralysis.

When local Falun Gong practitioners heard about her arrest, they bought rice, flour, and oil to her home when they came to visit. They wish to assist her husband in rescuing her, yet her husband has turned them down.

Ms. Geng's case is likely being handled by Yang Ziheng, an officer from the Acheng District Domestic Security Division, and could be turned to the Procuratorate shortly after the New Year.
