(Minghui.org) “I have been searching for this for a long time! This is the journey I've been seeking, and now I found it!” said Dr. Linda Boykins, a therapist who attended the Falun Gong exercise teaching workshop at the Fremont Main Library on August 27, 2018. Dr. Boykins was excited to find this cultivation practice after years of searching. “I feel that something is touching my spirit. I feel great!”

A Falun Gong practitioner introduces the main book of Falun Gong, Zhuan Falun.

This was the sixth Falun Gong workshop at the Fremont Main Library. A large group of attendees of different ethnicities learned the Falun Gong exercises. Many of them said they felt very calm, relaxed and in better shape after doing the exercises. Amazed by the powerful practice, many said that they would like to continue doing the exercises and also get Zhuan Falun to read.

“I couldn't straighten my left arm. Now I can!” Dr. Boykins happily straightened her left arm in excitement after doing the fifth exercise. “ When I first came in, my legs were hurting and my arms were hurting, but now I can make my arm straight. I feel much better overall than before I came here... I like the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It reminds me so much of just being peaceful within. It's not about a material thing, but knowing who you are... This is what I have been looking for. I actually believe the mind, the body and the spirit can heal itself when you put together your mind, your body, your spirit, love, compassion, mindfulness and truthfulness.”

A Falun Gong practitioner told her that Falun Gong is a cultivation practice of both mind and body and that following these great principles is the key. Dr. Boykins completely agreed. She enjoyed the practice very much and sincerely thanked practitioners for the teaching. She said that she would like to introduce it to her family, because she feels that everyone will be able to benefit from Falun Gong.

Despite a long day at work, Rahul, a Silicon Valley engineer, still decided to come to the library to learn Falun Gong in the evening.

He said, “I'm filled with energy after learning the exercises. There seems to be energy around my body, which makes me relaxed and calm.” He planned to go to the group exercise site in Fremont on Saturdays. “Life is fast-paced. I need to slow down,” he said. “I would like to continue the exercise for the next few weeks. I will get better at relaxing.”

Bani, a Yoga teacher, learns the fifth exercise.

Bani, a Yoga teacher, could sit with both legs crossed in the full lotus position when she learned the fifth exercise. “When I closed my eyes, I could feel the peacefulness. I could concentrate,” she remarked. She said that she would like to bring her son to learn the exercises the next time.

Many people asked when the next workshop would be. New inquiries continue to pour in. Falun Gong practitioners plan to hold a workshop every month in the future.
