Taiwan: Promoting Falun Dafa at University Club Fair
(Minghui.org) Early September is when new and returning students begin their fall semester. On September 3 and 4, National Chung Cheng University in Chiayi County had a 2-day fair for all student organizations and clubs to recruit new members.
Four representatives of the Falun Dafa Club set up a table with printed materials at the fair and answered questions from fellow students.
A new student took a flier and asked what Falun Dafa, also called Falun Gong, is. Chen Shiwen, a junior majoring in history, told her it was a cultivation practice for mind and body based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
He added, “When facing a conflict or challenge, we look inside for any attachments and try to let them go. We strive to be considerate and understanding of others.”
Chen started practicing Falun Dafa after joining the Falun Dafa Club. Through Fa-study and doing the exercises, he became healthy and more confident, he said.
Ms. Chia-qi Pan, a graduate student working on her master's degree, also started practicing Falun Dafa at the college. “I used to think Falun Gong was for elderly people. I saw Falun Dafa at the fair years ago and started practicing.”
Ms. Pan shared that the profound teachings in the book Zhuan Falun gave her wisdom. She added that she was inspired by another practitioner's positive attitude and began to let go of her negative thoughts and fear of difficulty as well.
