(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 3 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were illegally arrested and detained, at least 7 practitioners were facing trial, 1 practitioner was sentenced to prison, and 1 practitioner was subjected to abuse during her detention.

1. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Yang Jie Detained

Ms. Yang Jie, 50, was arrested on July 30, 2018. She is being held in the Hangzhou City Detention Center.

2. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Juan and Ms. Wang Li Facing Trial

Ms. Wu Juan and Ms. Wang Li are scheduled to be tried in the Fengcheng Court on the morning of August 16, 2018.

Ms. Chen Lihong and Ms. Wang Caixia from the Tiexi District were arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong on the evening of August 8, 2018. Both practitioners were taken to the Shenyang City No. 2 Detention Center for five days.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Qi Yuling Sentenced to an Eight-Year Prison Term

Ms. Qi Yuling was recently sentenced to an eight-year prison term.

5. [Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province] Cases of Ms. Wang Liying and Ms. Liang Junhong Turned Over to Court

The cases of Ms. Wang Liying and Ms. Liang Junhong were recently turned over to the Yanhu District Court.

Ms. Wang is being held in the Yanhu Detention Center, while Ms. Liang has been released on bail.

6. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Yan Rongjie Detained

Mr. Yan Rongjie was arrested in the Outpatient Building of the No. 1 Hospital Affiliated with Zhongshan University by an officer from the Ronglin Police Station, Yuexiu District on July 23, 2018. His home was ransacked that night.

Mr. Yan was taken to the Yuexiu Detention Center. The arrest was approved on August 7, 2018.

7. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Rong Tiewen Forced to Take Unknown Drugs

Ms. Rong Tiewen, in her 60s, was arrested by Jiangnan Police Station officers while posting banners about Falun Gong on October 6, 2017. She was taken to a detention center where she was forced to take unknown drugs. It caused her face to swell, and her hands to blister and fester.

The Fengman District Court intended to try her in June 2018.

8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Tried

Ms. Wang Yihong, Ms. Wang Xiaohui, Ms. Wen Shuangling, Mr. Han Entong, and Mr. Shen Lingjun were tried in the Daoli District Court on August 3, 2018. Many security personnel surrounded the court on the morning of the trial.

The five practitioners were brought into the court with their heads covered with black bags. Their hands were cuffed and their feet shackled.

The trial started at around 10:00 a.m. and lasted for about an hour. No verdict was announced.
