Additional Persecution News from China – August 6, 2018 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 5 were illegally arrested.

1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xu Bin Faces Trial

Mr. Xu Bin is facing a trial on August 9, 2018 by the Ranghulu District Court.

2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Shuhua Arrested

Ms. Zhang Shuhua was arrested by officers from the Weizigou Police Station, Jiutai District, on July 27, 2018. The officers confiscated her calendars which contained information about Falun Gong. Ms. Zhang was taken to a detention center, which refused to admit her because her blood pressure reading was 190/80. She was released.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Eight Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Eight practitioners from the Economic and Technological Development Zone were arrested on October 8, 2017. They were sentenced to prison in May 2018. Ms. Lai Guifang was sentenced to seven years, Ms. Shi Ningyao five years, Ms. Lin Jingping four years, Ms. Wan Fang three years and six months, Mr. Hao Fukui three years, and Ms. Jia Xiuchun two years in prison. Ms. Liu Shufen and Ms. Wu Yanli were released on bail.

4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liang Zhihong Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Liang Zhihong from Shenbei District was given a one-year prison term. He will be taken to the Liaoning Province Prison.

5. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Mujie Arrested

Ms. Zhang Mujie was arrested at a market in Daxing District, Beijing, on the afternoon of August 2, 2018.

6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Gong Piqi Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Gong Piqi was recently sentenced to seven years and six months in prison by Fan Jiaqiang, a presiding judge with the Shibei District Court. Mr. Gong was arrested in October 2017. He has been held in the Qingdao City No. 1 Detention Center.

7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Chunmin Arrested

Ms. Xu Chunmin, from Shuangyangdian Town, Hanting District, was arrested by five or six plainclothes officers led by the Longzhuashu Village party secretary on the afternoon of May 26, 2018.

8. [Shanghai] Ms. Huang Xiaoqin Detained

Ms. Huang Xiaoqin was arrested in mid-July 2018 for distributing materials which had information about Falun Gong. She was detained.

9. [Pucheng County, Fujian Province] Mr. Zhu Ziyu Arrested

Mr. Zhu Ziyu, 81, was arrested by Liu Qiang and other officers from the Pucheng County Domestic Security Division, who staked out outside of his home, on the morning of July 26, 2018. He has not returned home yet.

10. [Dangyang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Tong Guifen Abused in Detention Center

Ms. Tong Guifen was arrested by officers from the Yuyang Police Station in the winter of 2017. She was held in the Yichang City Detention Center. Prison guard Wen Daoling instigated Yuan Xuelian, head among inmates in the cell, to monitor Ms. Tong. Ms. Tong was not allowed to talk. Every morning and afternoon, she was forced to sit on a small stool and was not allowed to move. Ms. Tong was traumatized by the abuse.
