Additional Persecution News from China – July 13, 2018 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 10 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 were illegally arrested.

1. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Additional Information on Ms. Guo Jinyu's Arrest

Ms. Guo Jinyu, a retiree of the Nanyang City Chemical Fiber Factory, was arrested by plainclothes officers on the morning of July 9, 2018. Her home was ransacked.

3. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Yue's Case Filed in Court

Ms. Wang Yue from the Putuo District was arrested by officers from the Changning District Domestic Security Division on October 17, 2017. She was taken to the Changning Detention Center.

Ms. Wang's case was filed in the Fengxian District Court.

Ms. Su Guihua, Mr. Yu Xianrong, and Mr. Lu Yonghua were arrested on October 16, 2017. They are facing a second trial on July 18, 2018.

Ms. Zhang Xiuqi was arrested on July 9, 2018, by deputy director Chen Chen Chaoyang and other officers from the Hongmiaozi Town Police Station.

Mr. Yin Weiping, 61, from Qidong City was arrested on July 4, 2018. Police ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Dafa Books, cellphone, MP4, and other personal belongings.

7. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Fallacious Supplementary Documents Filed Against Three Practitioners

Officers from the Yingcheng City Domestic Security Division delivered fallacious supplementary documents to the Anlu City Procuratorate Prosecution Office against Mr. Xiong Jiwei, Mr. Xiong Wenzhi, and Mr. Wang Gangqiang around July 5, 2018.

The three practitioners have been held in a detention center for more than eight months.

Mr. Liu Guozhi was arrested on July 11, 2018. His home was ransacked.

9. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Mingzhi and Her Husband Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Liu Mingzhi and her husband were arrested by the head of the Maojian District Domestic Security Division and other officers around July 5, 2018. Their home was ransacked and her computers, printers, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings were confiscated.

The couple are being held in the Niutoushan Brainwashing Center.

Ms. Gao Weiping from the Dongcheng District was taken to the 3^rd Ward, Beijing Women's Prison in May 2018. No family visits have been allowed.

The Chaoyang District Court accepted Ms. Che Pingping's case files from the Chaoyang Procuratorate.

12. [Hulunbeier City, Inner Mongolia] Seven Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Seven practitioners were sentenced to prison for refusing to renounce their faith in Falun Gong on December 28, 2017. The practitioners appealed, but the Hulunbeier Intermediate Court ruled to uphold the original verdicts on May 30, 2018, without holding a public hearing.

Ms. Xiao Lijuan and Mr. Fang Daohe (about 75 years old) were each sentenced to a nine-year prison term.Mr. Zhao Deting and Mr. Zhang Fajun were each sentenced to an eight-year prison term.Ms. Wang Xiujie and her husband Mr. Liu Wenfa were each sentenced to a seven-and-a-half year prison term.Ms. Yan Liping was sentenced to a five-year prison term.

The four men were taken to the Baoanzhao Prison on July 10, 2018. The whereabouts of the women are unknown.

13. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Li Xiangyun, Ms. Guo Shuxue and Ms. Ren Shuxia first appeared in the Yushu City Court on June 12, 2018. Their sentencing hearing was held on July 10 and lasted less than 20 minutes. Judge Zhang Liguo sentenced all three women to prison.

Ms. Ren and Ms. Guo were each sentenced to three years and fined 10,000 yuan. Ms. Li was sentenced one-and-a-half years. The amount of fine levied against Ms. Li is not known.

14. [Taicang County, Jiangsu Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Shi Zehui, a former teacher at the Jianxiong College, was arrested in late January 2017. He appeared in court on October 12, and was sentenced to a three-and-a-half year prison term.

Mr. Shi's wife, Ms. Qin Yanqiu, a former postal worker, was arrested on October 1, 2017, and was tried by Judge Qian Lu of the Zhangjiagang City Court on July 10, 2018, and was sentenced to a three-year prison term. Mr. Shi and Ms. Qin are appealing their sentences.

Ms. Dong Meiying was tried at the same time as Ms. Qin. The judge refused to have their shackles and handcuffs removed during the court proceedings.
