June 14, 2018 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Guangdong Province, China

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Changxing had a relapse of symptoms indicating heavy metal poisoning after he was arrested by officers from the Haizhu District Police Department. His condition worsened and he went into an intermittent coma. His life is in danger.

Mr. Li is a doctor of Chinese herbal medicine. He suffered from severe lead and magnesium poisoning when he was 18 years old. He became handicapped and unable to take care of himself. His health was restored after he began practicing Falun Gong.

He was arrested by police on April 20, 2017, and taken to the Haizhu Detention Center. His metal poisoning symptoms returned after his detention.

His entire body developed scabs beginning in October 2017. The scabs created a burning sensation and caused extreme pain. He lost 50 pounds within a month. The detention center did not provide any medical help or notify his family and lawyer.

Mr. Li’s health continued to deteriorate over a six month period. He had a bad cough, no appetite, and severe headache. He went into a comatose state intermittently.

He was tried on April 17, 2018. He appeared emaciated and disfigured. The procurator at Haizhu Detention Center insisted that Mr. Li's health was not a problem for continued detention.

Mr. Li’s lawyer went to visit him on June 2, 2018. Mr. Li said that he had a fever, bad cough, and headache. He said he was often dizzy and could not eat.
