(Minghui.org) Ten residents of Fushun City were strip-searched and had their blood drawn after they were arrested for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Zuo Yuhua, Ji Yaxuan, Liu Shaojun, Wu Lixian, Liu Chunlan, Zhou Shuhua, Yu Haiping, Yu Haiqiu, and Yu Hailan were seized on April 24, 2018, and are still being detained. Zhao Pang was taken into custody the following day but has been released on bail.
Agents from the Jianshe Local Police Station in the Wanghua District made the arrests and searched the ten Falun Gong practitioners.
The practitioners had their clothes stripped off, then had two large tubes of blood drawn from them against their will. Then male doctors x-rayed the female practitioners while police officers watched in the room next door.
The police gave no reason for taking the blood samples.
This is not the first time that Falun Gong practitioners in China have been subjected to forced blood draws. According to one report, a police officer in Guizhou Province revealed that “Blood samples are to be secured from all those who practice or who have practiced Falun Gong in order to construct a DNA database.”
Many practitioners suspect that the database is being established to facilitate involuntary organ donations. Numerous witness reports reveal that thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been killed for their organs, which are sold for profit in the transplant industry.
Practitioners Robbed of Cash and Other Personal Belongings
When Ms. Liu Chunlan was arrested at a bus stop, the police took over 1,000 yuan that she had on her. They ransacked her residence and took more than 18,000 yuan in cash and two laptop computers. Two practitioners who were visiting her were also arrested. They were taken to the Jianshe Local Police Station and then transferred to the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City.
The Constitution Guarantees Freedom of Belief
Ms. Zuo Yuhua was arrested after visiting a fellow practitioner. Ms. Zuo's family went to the police station to request her release, but the head of the police station told them they'd received the arrest order from the Domestic Security Division. When her family called the Domestic Security Division, they were told that their superiors had issued the order to arrest her.
Ms. Zuo's family went to the Public Security Bureau to talk to the person in charge, Yang Wenjun, but a guard stopped them. Her family later called Yang and told him, “Being in law enforcement, you should know that the Constitution guarantees us freedom of religion. The Press and Publication Administration issued Order No. 50 on March 1, 2011, that lifted the ban on Falun Gong books. All Falun Gong publications are legal.” Yang told her family to go talk to the local police station, then hung up.
Her family then went to the local police station in Jianshe but were told that the head, Sun Lixin, was not there. They couldn't reach Sun by phone or text messages that afternoon, so they went back to the police station the next morning. The guard said that Sun was still not there. He did not pick up the phone when they called again.
Nine of the ten arrested practitioners have been detained in the Fushun Detention Center for over a month now. Ms. Zhao Pang was released because of high blood pressure.
