(Minghui.org) Ms. Yan Wenqin, Ms. Huang Yazhen, and Ms. Yu Jinfeng (all in their sixties) are from Benxi City in Liaoning Province. They were detained for six months before being tried by the Benxi Court on May 24, 2018. The trial ended without a verdict.
During the trial, the lawyer for the practitioners pointed out that his clients were originally put under administrative detention. The police, however, put them directly under criminal detention, which is tantamount to kidnapping.
Learning of the illegal action by police, the procurator requested a recess, which was granted by the judge.
Recent Arrest
Ms. Yan, Ms. Huang, and Ms. Yu were talking to people about Falun Dafa and distributing Dafa calendars on November 12, 2017. Someone reported them to the authorities, so officers from the Jianchang Police Station arrested them. They were then taken to the Benxi City Detention Center and held for 15 days.
There, they were made to do forced labor. If they did not meet the assigned quotas, they were forced to stand still all day and night. They were also not allowed to do the Falun Dafa exercises, and their health began deteriorating.
The police then put them under criminal detention and held them for six months before they were tried.
