(Minghui.org) “The teachings made a deep impression on me. There is indeed no pure land in our current society. The only place one can find it is in Dafa. At our Fa-study group, there were no conflicts or fighting for self-interest, only peace and serenity.”

“The computer games that used to occupy my mind did not pop up anymore. My mind became clear; the habit of playing them was completely eliminated. A friend once joked, ‘If you could quit the games, then I will quit eating!’ It is really hard to believe, but, by virtue of cultivating Dafa, I did it!”

“I realized there were many things I needed to take care of in my day-to-day life. I also realized how selfish I'd been. Now I hold myself to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and spend more time with my family. When they saw how I'd changed, they were delighted.”

The above excerpts were taken from a new practitioner’s article titled “A Video Game Addict Breaks Free.” It was published as part of the editorial series, “Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day,” which included 55 articles submitted by practitioners all over the world.

This May 13 marks the 19th World Falun Dafa Day, the 67th birthday of Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, and the 26th anniversary of Falun Gong's public introduction. The editorial series called for a variety of articles, including cultivation experiences, cultivation stories, witnesses to history, traditional Chinese and Western culture, and musical compositions and artworks.

Numerous practitioners described their appreciation for Master Li for renewing their lives. They shared how they follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in their daily lives, thereby demonstrating the positive impact of the self-cultivation practice.

Some of them also told their stories of peaceful resistance amid the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of Falun Gong. Risking their own personal safety, practitioners persist in telling the public about Falun Gong, giving them a second perspective in contrast with state propaganda that demonizes the practice.

Practitioners Moved by Others’ Experiences

Denice Johnson, a practitioner from Melbourne, Australia, said:

“I read the sharing written by a Western practitioner in Venezuela, ‘A Young Westerner Experiences the Wonders of Cultivating in Falun Dafa.’ I was very moved by how young he was to be so diligent and steadfast, practicing in isolation, and I could relate to his work environment.”

“His boss and colleagues were so cruel to him, but when he realized his attachment to fame and let it go, everything in his life changed. This was in my work life, too. My boss is cruel to me and embarrasses me in public. To ignore her does not work. After reading this article, I can now see my attachment to wanting fame and recognition, and I can see how foolish it is. I want to change. I will let it go and do my best to be humble.”

Denice added, “I am a Western practitioner in the Tian Guo Marching Band, and I listened to the flute solo, ‘Thanks for Master's Grace.’ The lyrics touched my heart with its depth and honesty. The sound of the music is so righteous and gentle. I could hear the gentleness and compassion in the notes. I will try my best to be able to touch people’s hearts when I play Falun Dafa songs in the band, too.”

Ms. Nie from Sydney said she cried when she read the article, “Not Competing for Sales, Yet Earning the Highest Commission.”

“I had a similar personality and experiences. The author gave me a better understanding of 'Forbearance.' She handled her coworker's anger toward her very well. She even tried to help that coworker, who always cursed her. The coworker was finally touched and changed.”

“The article also uses plain language to demonstrate a practitioner's spirit. She didn't fight for personal gain, yet she earned the highest commission.”

The same article also moved Esmeralda Jin from Melbourne:

“I see that I still have attachments to money and fame. In cultivation, I truly see how great Dafa and Master are. The principles Master has taught me have helped me resolve numerous conflicts and problems in daily life and work. When I let go of the attachments to fame and money, I saw that my work environment became much less stressful,” Jin said.
