(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 8 were illegally arrested.

1. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Wang Mingquan Indicted by Procuratorate

Ms. Wang Mingquan from Huan County was arrested at her home on October 14, 2017. She was recently indicted by the Huan County Procuratorate.

2. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiang Shu'e Arrested

Ms. Jiang Shu'e was arrested in her apartment building by plainclothes officers on the afternoon of April 28, 2018.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Kecheng Arrested

Mr. Zhang Kecheng was arrested by officers from the Licang Police Department between April 24 and 27, 2018. His home was ransacked.

Mr. Zhang was held for a day, and then released due to failing the physical exam.

4. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tan Suxiang's Home Ransacked

Officers from the Beimeng Town Police Station in Changyi City ransacked Ms. Tan Suxiang's home in Maguzhuang Village, Beimeng, on the morning of April 26, 2018. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and Falun Gong related paintings.

5. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Yanju Detained

Ms. Zhao Yanju, from Sunjiawan Township, Chaoyang County, was arrested by officers from the Nanta Police Department and Chaoyang County Police Station on the afternoon of April 20, 2018 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Zhao is being held in the Chaoyang City Detention Center.

6. [Da'an City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Xuemei and Ms. Ma Fengyi Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Xuemei and Ms. Ma Fengyi were arrested in September 2017, and taken to the Baicheng City Detention Center.

Ms. Wang and Ms. Ma were secretly tried in the Taonan City Court in February 2018. Both practitioners were sentenced to three years in prison, with five years of probation. Ms. Wang was fined 5,000 yuan, and Ms. Ma was fined 10,000 yuan.

Ms. Meng Rufang was recently arrested and her home was ransacked.

9. [Tianjin] Ms. Ding Yan Arrested

Ms. Ding Yan from the Binhai New Area was reported to the authorities for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Shiyou New Village in Donggu on the afternoon of April 27, 2018. She was arrested by the Shiyou Police, and her home was ransacked. Her computer, cell phone, and Falun Gong books were confiscated.

Ms. Ding was taken to a local detention center, but was not accepted as she failed the physical exam. She returned home.

10. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Chunyan and Ms. Sun Jianhua Tried

Ms. Zhao Chunyan and Ms. Sun Jianhua were arrested by officers from the Jinnan District Domestic Security Division and Shuangzha Police Station on January 13, 2017. They were taken to the Jinnan Detention Center.

Ms. Zhao and Ms. Sun were tried in the Jinnan Court on the morning of March 27, 2018.
