German Practitioners Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day
(Minghui.org) Last weekend, Falun Dafa practitioners in several German cities celebrated the 19th World Falun Dafa Day and the birthday of Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong). These events also included introducing the self-improvement practice of Falun Gong to the public and raising awareness of its persecution in China that has now lasted 19 years.
This report covers the celebrations in Berlin, Cologne, Munich, Dusseldorf, and Titisee.
The celebration in Berlin took place at the Brandenburg Gate.
Practitioners demonstrated the exercises in front of the Cologne Cathedral.
Practitioners from Munich celebrated the holiday on Marienplatz.
Sharing Their Joy
Thanh and Tam, two Vietnamese Falun Gong practitioners that live in Berlin, got married on May 13. The newlyweds came to the celebration, passing out flyers and talking to tourists in their wedding outfits.
Thanh started practicing in 1998. He said, “We picked today as our wedding day, because we want to draw attention to Falun Gong, telling our friends, family, and the public about the beauty of Falun Gong and sharing it with them.”
Tam is new to Falun Gong. She started practicing two years ago.
She said, “I found the meaning of life in cultivating Falun Dafa, which teaches me to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. My life has been enriched.
“It is a meaningful day. We celebrate Master Li's birthday. After the event, we invited fellow practitioners to have dinner to celebrate our marriage.”
“I see hope in this group of people.”
All kinds of people expressed their support at the events.
Maryam is well aware of the evilness of the communist party. She hopes she can help to stop the persecution.
“I support their peaceful resistance,” she said. “I see hope in this group of people. They remain calm and follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in the face of persecution. This is the only way to fight evil.”
Dietmar is a retired military official who lives in Dusseldorf. He said, “I got a paper lotus flower from you a few years ago. I still have it. Your peaceful resistance is great.” He encouraged the practitioners to keep up the good work.
Many Chinese tourists also saw how Falun Gong is embraced in Germany. They were amazed, because it was the opposite of what they had heard about Falun Gong in China. Some of them expressed their support.
At Titisee, a group of Chinese tourists from Sichuan Province sent warm greetings to practitioners.
One of them said, “You have done a great job. I have seen you in many countries. It is really precious.”
“The communist party tries to suppress Falun Gong, but Falun Gong is still here, and the Party itself is about to collapse,” he added.
One of his friends said, “Do you know who the Party is afraid of the most? It is you, Falun Gong. You are peaceful and lay bare the Party's evil history for all to see. That is why it is afraid of you.”
