Bulgaria: People of Haskovo Support Petition Opposing the Persecution of Falun Gong in China
(Minghui.org) Falun Gong was successfully introduced for the first time in the Bulgarian city of Haskovo in early March 2018, in a presentation by Falun Gong practitioners. The presentation was attended by 40 people, half of whom learned the exercises afterwards. Practitioners in this little town gathered 420 signatures in just a few hours on a petition opposing the persecution of the practice in China.
During individual conversations after the formal presentation, people virtually overwhelmed the practitioners with additional questions. Several teenagers shared what they had learned about the practice from posters displayed at their schools. The schools' principals had agreed to display the posters after being contacted by practitioners.
One practitioner shared, “All that time people’s faces were lit up, except when we mentioned the persecution. It was obvious that they condemned the situation in China.”
Those who did not have the opportunity to sign the petition offered moral support for the Falun Gong practitioners in China and for their efforts to seek justice for years of suffering.
The practice of Falun Dafa was introduced to the Bulgarian public and political figures at a private gathering on March 17. Attendees listened with a great deal of interest and respect about Falun Dafa’s guiding principles of Truthfulness–Compassion–Forbearance. Some purchased copies of the books Zhuan Falun and Falun Gong, and some said that they would like to join the practitioners in doing the exercises in parks.
