Additional Persecution News from China – April 15, 2018 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 7 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Mr. Shi Jianlin Detained

Mr. Shi Jianlin was arrested at his home by Ji Aimin and other police officers on March 9, 2018, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police confiscated his Falun Gong books.

Ji Aimin went to Mr. Shi's home the following day and confiscated his cell phone. The cell phone was later blocked, and could no longer be used.

Mr. Shi was detained for 15 days.

2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yao Changli Detained

Ms. Yao Changli was arrested at her home by officers from the Shuguanglu Police Station on April 12, 2018. The police ransacked the place and confiscated her Falun Gong books.

Ms. Yao is being held in the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.

3. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Xiulan Harassed

Ms. Wu Xiulan was harassed at her home by officers from the Fanjiang Police Station on April 1, 2018. The police confiscated a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books and MP3 players.

4. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhi Jinglian Detained

Ms. Zhi Jinglian, in her fifties, was arrested by officers from the Honglou Police Station. The police also ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, cell phones, and other personal belongings.

Ms. Zhi was detained for ten days, where she was ordered to write a guarantee statement not to practice Falun Gong any more, and was threatened with being taken to a brainwashing center.

5. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tian Ruixia Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Tian Ruixia was arrested by officers from the Anqiu City Domestic Security Division on April 13, 2018. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Tian was taken to the Anqiu Brainwashing Center.

6. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Rong Chuncheng and Ms. Jiang Haiying Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Rong Chuncheng and Ms. Jiang Haiying were arrested by officers from the Lijiaying Police Station on April 12, 2018, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked their homes the following day and confiscated their Falun Gong books.

Mr. Rong and Ms. Jiang were taken to the Wuzhuangbu Brainwashing Center.

7. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Shao Ziying and Her Husband Mr. Wang Xudong Detained

Ms. Shao Ziying and her husband Mr. Wang Xudong, both in their sixties, were arrested at their home by two dozen officers on March 28, 2018.

Ms. Shao and Mr. Wang were taken to the Liaocheng City Detention Center.

Ms. Shao was released on April 11 because she failed the physical. Mr. Wang is still being detained.

8. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Yueqin Taken to Prison

Ms. Zhang Yueqin was taken to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.

9. [Huaibin County, Henan Province] Ten Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Shi'e and nine other practitioners were arrested at Ms. Liu's home by officers from the Huaibin County Domestic Security Division and the Beicheng Police Station on April 13, 2018. The police confiscated a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, an MP3 player, and cell phone.

Eight of the arrested practitioners were released early the next morning. Ms Liu was detained for 15 days and Ms. Han Sue was detained for ten days.

10. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wei Yuxian Held in Police Station

Ms. Wei Yuxian was arrested by officers from the Yongan Police Station on April 14, 2018, for distributing DVDs of “The Ultimate Goal of Communism.”

Ms. Wei is being held in the police station.

11. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhang Weimin Sentenced

Ms. Zhang Weimin, 65, was arrested by officers from the Xiangyanglu Police Station on August 27, 2015, for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party. The police ransacked her home and confiscated computers, printers, pictures of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings.

Ms. Zhang was recently sentenced to a five-year prison term She is imprisoned in the Tianjin Women's Prison and is subjected to inhumane treatment.

12. [Pingchuan District, Gansu Province] Ms. Yang Jirun Sentenced

Ms. Yang Jirun was recently sentenced to an eight-month prison term and fined 5,000 yuan by the Jingyuan County Court.

13. [Chongqing] Three Practitioners Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Li Weiqun was held in the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center for 18 days. Her husband, Mr. Lei Zhengxia and a female practitioner, in her sixties, are still being detained.

14. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhao Mei Arrested

Ms. Zhao Mei was arrested in July 2017 when she went to Chengdu City to attend a school reunion.

15. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Cao Qicai in a Coma

Mr. Cao Qicai was sentenced to a four-year prison term and was taken to the Hulan Prison. He was transferred to the No. 1 Hospital of Harbin Medical University on April 13, 2018, because he was in a coma.

Mr. Cao was recently put in solitary confinement and was tortured for several days. He went on hunger strike to protest the persecution.

16. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Shuxiang Arrested

Ms. Wang Shuxiang was arrested by officers from the Hongxing Police Station on April 6, 2018, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Officers from the Jiguan District Police Department ransacked her home on April 8.
