(Minghui.org) I am a 78-year-old retired cadre from the Hubei Province government. I have been practicing Falun Dafa for 24 years.
Before I started practicing Falun Dafa, I had all kinds of illnesses, such as anemia, stomach problems, tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Soon after I began to practice, all of my illnesses disappeared.
On my cultivation path, I have suffered a lot of tribulations and hardships. I'd like to share some of my cultivation experiences.
Being Steadfast in Practicing Falun Dafa; Withdrawing from the Party In Public
Since July 20, 1999, the communist regime has been making use of all kinds of propaganda: broadcasting TV segments and publishing newspaper articles to fabricate lies that attack Master Li Hongzhi (the founder) and Dafa.
Practitioners were feeling the pressure coming from everywhere: police stations, their workplaces, and local community management committees. The means they used were even beyond what was used during the Cultural Revolution.
Though many people were practicing Dafa, they lacked a deep understanding of Master Li and Dafa. At my workplace, we used to have eight Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members practicing, but during the persecution, most of them stopped.
At night, I would shed tears as I faced this situation. I thought: “Most of them quit practicing, but I will not.” I could give up my job, or the CCP membership, but not Dafa!
Once the persecution began, I started practicing at home by myself for a while. Then I thought: I should not always stay at home. I need to go out to let people know the truth about Dafa.
As a result, I went to join a senior choir. I used our break time to tell people that Falun Dafa is the Buddha law, and that it taught people to be good by following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
I went on to tell them that the staged self-immolation incident was purely a hoax, which was used by Jiang Zemin, the former CCP leader, to frame Falun Dafa.
Soon enough the management came to talk to me and told me that they would not allow me to talk about Falun Dafa. Otherwise, they would have to order me to leave.
They asked me to leave soon after that.
When I was working, my workplace organized study sessions for CCP members to ensure that they remained loyal to the CCP. I wanted to openly withdraw my membership from the Party, so I submitted the application.
My manager had spoken to me a few times to stop me from quitting the CCP and asked me to renounce Dafa instead, but I refused to do this. As a result, they suspended my son's job.
My son was working at the same company as me, and later on, they laid him off. My son couldn't return to work until the new management came on board; then they called him back.
Nothing could change my faith in Dafa and going to talk to people about Dafa every day.
Later on, I learned how to browse the Internet. Then I began to make truth-clarification materials on a computer by learning from other practitioners.
Delivering a Truth-Clarification Flier to the Director of the Police Bureau
More than 200,000 practitioners had filed lawsuits against Jiang Zemin by May 2015. From April to September of 2017, the police began a “door-knocking movement” to harass practitioners.
The police made many arrests, and many practitioners' material production printing centers were destroyed as well.
I once came across something on the Minghui website that said that one should have freedom of belief and that the government has to abide by the Constitution. It highlighted that practicing Falun Dafa in China is legal.
I printed it out and was going to take it to the police station to have the officers understand the truth so as not to commit any more crimes. So I decided to bring brochures to the station.
I was looking for the police officer who was responsible for my area. One officer told me he wasn't around, so I decided to leave the materials with him instead. As soon as he realized that they were Dafa materials, he told me to go upstairs and said he would be right with me.
Soon enough, the police officer in charge of our area came back. When I walked over to greet him, he began to swear at me.
He said, “How dare you deliver Falun Dafa materials to my boss!
“I'll send some people to go ransack your home, then send you to a forced labor camp to torture you to death!”
I said to him, “Please do not get upset. I came to tell you the truth about Falun Dafa. The government says we should run the country by abiding by the Constitution. And, it is legal to practice Falun Dafa in China.
“People from all over the country know that people who practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are the best people. For you to persecute Falun Dafa is actually committing a crime. Why don't you take a look at this information?”
He closed his eyes, then said, “I won't touch it. Don't try to brainwash me.”
He kept saying that I should not give the information to his boss.
I said, “I don't know who your boss is. Why don't you check it out first?” He still turned me down and kept swearing at me.
Then I turned to a few other police officers in the same office and said, “Why don't you check this out? If what I am saying is not true, you can do whatever you want to me.”
The officer asked me if I still practiced, and I firmly answered, “Yes!”.
When he asked me to sign his document, I just wrote down “Falun Dafa is wonderful!”
Then the officer said, “Alright, I've decided not to ransack your home today.”
I said to him, “Aren't you tired of swearing at me for so long? I didn't swear back at you, and I don't hate you. Instead, I thank you.”
Then another police officer asked me to go home, so I left. Nobody has come to harass me since.
