Additional Persecution News from China – March 11, 2018 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 17 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 11 were illegally arrested.

1. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Ms. Jin Guizhi and Mr. Ji Guoxiang Arrested

Ms. Jin Guizhi and Mr. Ji Guoxiang were arrested by several officers from the Sijian Police Station and Luyuan Police Department on March 7, 2018.

Mr. Ji was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center. Ms. Jin was released the following morning.

2. [Urumqi, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Pan Xiuhua and Ms. Wang Yongmei Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Pan Xiuhua and Ms. Wang Yongmei were each sentenced to three-and-a-half-years in prison in the Midong District Court in December 2017.

Ms. Pan has appealed to the Urumqi City Intermediate Court.

3. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested

Eight practitioners were arrested before the 2018 Chinese New Year. They were held in the Rizhao City Detention Center.

Five practitioners were released on bail by March 9, after each paid 3,000 yuan as a security deposit. The five who were released are: Ms. Wang Junling, Mr. Wang Yanzhou, Mr. Yao Yonglin, Ms. Qu Zhenghua, Ms. Li Huijuan.

Ms. Qu Zhengrong, who is Ms. Qu Zhenghua's younger sister; Mr. Gong Hua; and Mr. Sun Ping were officially placed under arrest. They remain in the detention center.

4. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Han Huamei Arrested

Ms. Han Huamei was arrested by officers from the Xuanwu Street Police Station while shopping in a store on March 5, 2018. She was released that evening.

5. [Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qu Yongxia and Ms. Yang Lihua Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Ms. Qu Yongxia and Ms. Yang Lihua were both sentenced to a five-year prison term. Their original verdicts were upheld at the second trial.

6. [Tianjin] Ms. Xu Zhihong Detained

Ms. Xu Zhihong, 64, was arrested at her home by staff from the Xianchunyuan neighborhood committee and the local police on the afternoon of March 9, 2018. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Xu was taken to a detention center that day.

7. [Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Wang Ying Taken Into Custody

Mr. Wang Ying from Xishuiquan Village, Shacheng Town, Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, was forced to leave his home in 2001 to avoid being persecuted by the local police. However, he was arrested on March 6, 2018, and is being held in Baotou City.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Minyu Arrested

Ms. Liu Minyu has been arrested.

9. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Sheng Xiuhuan Taken to Prison

Ms. Sheng Xiuhuan from Aohan Banner was arrested by officers from the Sidaowanzi Police Station and Aohan Banner Domestic Security Division on April 11, 2017. She was taken to a detention center on April 13.

Ms. Sheng was tried the first time on July 10, 2017, and sentenced to a three-year prison term and fined 1,000 yuan on November 8. She appealed but was taken to the Hohhot Women's Prison in February 2018.

10. [Taiyuan, Shanxi Province] Mr. Zhao Kai Detained

Mr. Zhao Kai was arrested at his home by officers from the Taiyuan City Railway Police Department on the evening of February 14, 2018. The officers confiscated four printers, a set of Falun Dafa books, and 2,000 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong information written on them. Before leaving, the officers welded the door shut so that no one could go in.

Mr. Zhao is being held in the Taiyuan City No. 1 Detention Center.

11. [Shanghai] Five Practitioners Detained

Ms. Wu Mei from the Jing'an District was arrested at her home by Jing'an District Domestic Security Division officers on March 5, 2018. Ms. Jiang Peizhu, Mr. Xu Wenfei, Ms. Li Hengzhen, and another practitioner were arrested at the same time.

The officers confiscated Ms. Wu's computer, Falun Dafa books, printed materials, and paper currency with Falun Gong information written on it. The five practitioners were taken to the Jing'an District Detention Center.

12. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Huang Huanzhi and Ms. Gao Xiaoping's Case Files Handed to Procuratorate

Ms. Huang Huanzhi and Ms. Gao Xiaoping were arrested by Lihaiwu Police Station officers on January 27, 2018, for distributing Falun Gong materials. They are being held in the Liaocheng City Detention Center. The police have turned the practitioners' case files over to the Dongchangfu District Procuratorate.

13. [Keshan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Yingju Detained

Ms. Li Yingju, about 72 years old, from Keshan Farm was arrested and taken to the Qiqihar City No. 1 Detention Center on March 9, 2018. The officers ransacked her home on or around March 8 and confiscated many of her personal belongings.

14. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang, 50, and another female practitioner, 70, were arrested on February 22, 2018. The other practitioner was released, but Ms. Wang was detained for 15 days. At the end of her detention she was taken away by the local police. Her whereabouts are unknown.

15. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Yuxia Detained

Ms. Liu Yuxia was arrested by three officers from the Zhengyang Police Station on the afternoon of March 7, 2018. She was taken to the Yushu Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

16. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sui Shuyun and Ms. Liu Guiqin Taken to Prison

Ms. Sui Shuyun, in her 60s, and Ms. Liu Guiqin, 75, were transferred from the Tieling City Detention Center to Liaoning Province Women's Prison on February 27, 2018.
