(Minghui.org) As of March 10, 2018, over 299 million Chinese had announced their resignations from the communist organizations, including the Party itself, the Youth League, and the Young Pioneers.

To celebrate this milestone, Falun Gong practitioners and other Toronto residents held a parade at Clarence Park in the downtown area on March 10.

With “Quitting the Communist Party for a Better Future” as its theme, the parade was made up of three sections: the benefits of Falun Gong, the 19 years of persecution in China, and why it is important to distance oneself from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The Tian Guo Marching Band led the parade on March 10, 2018.

The parade attracted many visitors.

Stopping the Persecution

Belinon and Callie Gray, two sisters from Scarborough, heard about Falun Gong several years ago. They knew that the practice improved one’s health and character. When they heard about the persecution in China, especially the forced organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, they were shocked and encouraged the practitioners to let more people know about it. “This is a state-sanctioned crime and it has to stop,” remarked Belinon.

Another resident, Paul Welsh, was impressed by the parade and especially liked the colors of the Tian Guo Marching Band uniforms. Having read about how the Chinese communists have infiltrated overseas and affected students in Canada, he said he fully supported the practitioners' efforts to help Chinese people quit the Party. “What we do here sends a strong message and I am happy to see so many people have decided to stay away from the Party,” he said.

Paul Collins, a writer who saw the event, said he had heard about Falun Gong and the persecution for nine years. “What you do is very important. Please keep it up,” he encouraged.

Mary from Poland said she had seen the damage communism caused in Russia and Poland, as well as in China and other nations. “Communism has ruined our traditions and killed our people. Quitting the regime will help China and the Chinese. I am glad to see this parade today,” she said.

Feedback from Chinese Residents

Mr. Ren has lived in Toronto’s Chinatown for 30 years. He sees Falun Gong events every year and likes them very much. He said, “All these things you do will help the society a lot.”

Mr. Tan, who is pursuing a Master's Degree at the University of Toronto, talked with a practitioner and agreed to quit the CCP organizations. “My grandfather was a professor, and the Party sent him to work on a farm for many years,” he explained, “After leaving China, I have realized how bad the Party is. I feel really good about quitting it.”

Mr. Lian from China thanked practitioners for holding the event. “The number of people who have quit the CCP keeps increasing,” he noted. “This means that they want to separate themselves from that totalitarian regime. The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are the hope of China.”
