(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 5 were illegally arrested.

1. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jiang Weizhen Faces Trial Again

Ms. Jiang Weizhen was followed and arrested by officers from the Chaoyang City Domestic Security Division. She was tried in the Longcheng Court on November 30, 2017. The court scheduled another trial on January 25, 2018.

2. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Yuehong Displaced

Officers from the Xiaochi Town Police Station, Huangmei County, broke into Ms. Wu Yuehong's home and confiscated Falun Gong books and materials on the evening of January 13, 2018.

The officers, led by the police station director, went to her home again the following morning. Ms. Wu was not at home, so they took her son to the police station. They threatened him and forced him to write a guarantee statement that he would prevent his mother from practicing Falun Gong. He was released after writing the statement.

Ms. Wu had to leave home to avoid further persecution.

3. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Ding Wen'an Detained

Mr. Ding Wen'an was arrested outside his home by plainclothes officers from the Liuyuan Police Station, who were staked out there on the morning of November 16, 2017. The officers confiscated a computer, printer, and printed materials.

Mr. Ding is being held in the Suzhou No. 1 Detention Center.

4. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Zhi Arrested

Mr. Zhang Zhi was arrested on January 20, 2018. His home was ransacked.

5. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Mr. Mu Yadong and Ms. Liu Yuxia Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Mu Yadong was sentenced to an eight-year prison term by the Weidong District Court. He was taken to the Xinmi City Prison on January 18, 2018.

Ms. Liu Yuxia was sentenced to a five-year prison term by the Xinhua District Court. She appealed and remains in the Baofeng Detention Center.

6. [Shihezi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Deng Yanling and Her Father Mr. Deng Ankun Detained

Mr. Deng Ankun, 78, was arrested at his son's home in Beijing in October 2017. He is being held in the Yili Brainwashing Center.

His daughter, Ms. Deng Yanling, was worried about her elderly father and went to request his release. She was arrested and detained by officers from the Daxue Police Station.

7. [Chongqing] Ms. Xie Xiulan Arrested

Ms. Xie Xiulan from Fengdu County was arrested at home by officers from the Fengdu Police Department on the evening of January 11, 2018. She was released the following day.

8. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Zhong Detained

Mr. Wang Zhong from Kuancheng County was reported to the authorities for talking to people about Falun Gong on January 17, 2018. He was arrested by Ma Fei, deputy head of the Domestic Security Division, and other officers.

Mr. Wang is being held in the Huangyazi Detention Center.

9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Zhehui Arrested

Ms. Yang Zhehui from Kangping County was arrested by Jiao Jiao, political head of the Kangping Domestic Security Division; Huang Xuguang, deputy head; and other officers on the morning of January 16, 2018.

Ms. Yang was beaten by the police while in detention. She has since returned home.
