Additional Persecution News from China – November 18, 2018 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 were illegally arrested.

1. [Yangquan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Tian Yanhua and Ms. Zhang Aimei Sentenced

In early November, 2018, the Pingding County Court sentenced Ms. Tian Yanhua to two-and-a-half-years in prison and fined her 20,000 yuan. Ms. Zhang Aimei was sentenced to a year in prison and fined 10,000 yuan.

Ms. Tian and Ms. Zhang were arrested by officers from the Chengqu Police Department and the Beidajie Police Station when they were handing out information about Falun Gong on the evening of May 8, 2018. They have been held at the Yangquan City Detention Center since then.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Guo Arrested

Practitioner Guo, first name unknown, from the Yinxiang Residential District near Dalian Airport, was arrested on the evening of November 12, 2018. His or her home was ransacked.

3. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Guixian Detained

Ms. Li Guixian, nearly 70, was arrested at her home by officers from the Hexinglu Police Station on the evening of November 8, 2018. Her computer, printer, and Falun Gong related items were confiscated. Police told her son the next day that she was being held at the Harbin No. 2 Detention Center.

4. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yu Chunxiang and Ms. Liang Shuqin Arrested

Ms. Yu Chunxiang, 72, and Ms. Liang Shuqin, 78 were arrested by eight officers from the Dasungezhuang Town Police Station on November 14, 2018. Someone reported them while they were telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong and handing out calendars. Police ransacked their homes that afternoon, and confiscated their Falun Gong books and paper money with written messages worth more than 400 yuan. They were taken to the Shunyi Detention Center around 11:00 p.m. Because their physical exams showed that they had high blood pressure, the detention center refused to admit them. Their children took them home around 3:00 a.m.

6. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wu Chunhuan Taken to Prison Secretly

The Qinhuangdao Intermediate Court affirmed a 20-month prison term against Ms. Wu Chunhuan from Qinglong County. Ms. Wu was taken to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison around November 13, 2018. Her family was not notified as required by law.

7. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Hou Jiuling Detained

Officers from the Luyi County Domestic Security Division, led by deputy chief Wang Jihua, ransacked Ms. Hou Jiuling's home in the afternoon to around 11:00 p.m. on November 13, 2018. The confiscated personal items filled two police cars. Ms. Hou was taken to the Zhoukou Detention Center.

8. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Nine Practitioners Detained

Nine practitioners from a Fa-study group in Weibin District were arrested on November 9, 2018. They homes were ransacked. Two eldest ones, one of them with the last name Zhang, were held at a brainwashing center for a week. Ms. Wang Yuling was subjected to criminal detention. The other six were subjected to administrative detention.

9. [Sanmenxia City, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Guihua Arrested and Her Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Liu Guihuan from Yima City was arrested at her apartment in Luoyang City by officers from the Yima Police Department on the afternoon of November 15, 2018. Her place was ransacked. Many personal items were confiscated. Ms. Liu's whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. He Julian Arrested Her Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. He Julian, 70, lives alone in Jintai District. She was arrested on October 23, 2018. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Shan Jun Detained

Mr. Shao Jun, over 50, from the Chadaokou area in Nanchang City, was arrested in Shishuikou Village, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province on November 14, 2018 by officers from the Dongguan Police Department and Shishuikou Police Station, after they found Falun Gong materials in his car. He has not been released.

12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Xiaoguang Detained

Six officers from the Qingnianlu Police Station broke into Mr. Wang Xiaoguang's home at noon on November 16, 2018. They ransacked the place, confiscated printers, Falun Gong books, and other items. Mr. Wang was taken to the police station, then to the Weizigou Detention Center at night. He was subjected to 10 days detention.

13. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Yan Baoli Arrested

Four officers from the Shijiaying Police Station in Fengxiang County arrested Mr. Yan Baoli at home at noon on November 8, 2018. They confiscated a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books and items, a radio, memory cards, U-drivers, cell phone, bank cards, a computer, other personal items, and more than 3,000 yuan in cash.

Mr. Yan was cuffed to an iron chair for an entire day at the police station, then taken to a brainwashing center located in the Beimen Hotel in Liulin Town Xifeng Winery. Several dozen officers from the Baoji City Security Bureau, Fengxiang County Domestic Security Division, and Fengxiang County Police Department interrogated him. Mr. Yan managed to escape on the morning of November 11.
