(Minghui.org) Officers from the Huanren County Domestic Security Division and the Hualai Town Police Station arrested five practitioners from Hualai Town in Liaoning Province on August 28, 2018. The names of four of the five practitioners are Ms. Zhang Jiying, Ms. Gao Delan, Xiao Yongjiu, and Meng Zhaojin.
The officers forced their way in the practitioners' homes and arrested them without a search warrant. They ransacked the homes and confiscated personal items. The practitioners and their families have yet to receive the list of confiscated items from the police.
Meng Zhaojin and another practitioner were detained for 15 days and extorted 1,000 yuan. Ms. Zhang and Ms. Gao were officially placed under arrest and are being held in the Benxi City Detention Center.
Ms. Zhang's Arrest
Ms. Zhang Jiying, 63, was arrested by four officers, including He Yan, director of the Hualai Town Police Station. She and her young grandson were still asleep in the early hours when the police broke in.
They took Ms. Zhang and her grandson to the police station and later to the Benxi City Detention Center. Her grandson was later taken home.
To protest her unlawful arrest and detention, she refused to participate in the roll call in the detention center. The guards then poked her with pens and forced her to stand still for long periods of time.
Before practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Zhang suffered from heart problems and a stomach disorder that it made it impossible for her to eat rice or fruit or drink cold water. Shortly after she started practicing Falun Gong in 1992, all of her ailments disappeared, she could work on the farm, and her temper improved immensely.
Ms. Zhang was first arrested on April 12, 2004, for distributing Falun Gong materials. Officers from the Huajianzi Township Police Station in Huanren County slapped her and tried to shock her with electric batons, but the batons wouldn't work when the officers tried to use them on her.
She was later sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for three years. While she was there, she was forced to attend brainwashing sessions, persecuted by inmates, and deprived of sleep.
She was arrested at home for the second time on November 3, 2015, by officers from the Huanren County Police Department and the Erhulai Town Police Station for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party. She was detained for 15 days.
Ms. Gao's Arrest
Ms. Gao Delan, in her 60s, was arrested at home by eight officers from the Huanren County Domestic Security Division and the Hualai Town Police Station. She was taken to a detention center.
When Ms. Gao met with the Huanren County prosecutor, she was told, “Yes, I know you are innocent. But I don't have a choice in this.”
Ms. Gao started to practice Falun Gong in 1998. Prior to that, she suffered from all kinds of health problems, including heart disease. They disappeared after she started to practice Falun Gong.
She was reported on November 18, 2014, for handing out two Falun Gong calendars. She was arrested by Erhulai Town Police Station officers and detained for 10 days.
She was arrested again on July 24, 2015, and detained for 15 days for suing Jiang Zemin.
