Additional Persecution News from China – December 25, 2017 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 18 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 10 were illegally arrested.

1. [Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Jin Zhimei's Case Transferred To Another Procuratorate

Ms. Jin Zhimei's case was filed at the Chuxiong City Procuratorate for prosecution. However, the Procuratorate missed the last day to bring charges against her, which was December 5, 2017, so they transferred her case to the Dayao County Procuratorate.

Ms. Jin's lawyer went to the Chuxiong City Detention Center and met with her on December 22, 2017.

2. [Dashiqiao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Suyuan Sentenced to an Eighteen-Month Prison Term

Ms. Ma Suyuan's family learned on December 20, 2017, that she had been sentenced to an eighteen-month prison term.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Runfu Sentenced to a Three-Year Prison Term

Mr. Li Runfu was arrested by officers from the Changchun City Domestic Security Division and the Qianjin Street Police Station on the morning of March 12, 2017. He was sentenced to three years in prison by the High-Tech Zone Court on December 1.

4. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Gongxiu Detained

Ms. Zhang Gongxiu from Jingguo Village, Zhihe Town, was arrested on the evening of December 23, 2017, for distributing Falun Gong materials.

Ms. Zhang was taken to the Guangxianglu Police Station in Zhihe Town, and was detained for ten days.

5. [Ya'an City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Four practitioners were sentenced to prison by the Yucheng District Court on August 3, 2016.

Ms. Gan Yulian, 74, was given a three-year prison term with a four-year-and-six-month probation.Mr. Hu Jiaqi, 76, was given a three-year prison term with a four-year probation.Ms. Wang Guangying, 74, and Ms. Huang Xiuhua, 73, were each given a three-year prison term with a three-year probation.

6. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhai Yanan Detained

Ms. Zhai Yanan was recently arrested at her son's home in Shanghai. She is being held in the Hefei City Women's Detention Center.

7. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cong Guiping and Ms. Zhang Zhaohua Arrested

Ms. Cong Guiping and Ms. Zhang Zhaohua were arrested on December 22, 2017.

8. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Gao Hengbai Given Criminal Detention

Mr. Gao Hengbai from Xiaozhen Village, Nancun Town, was reported to the authorities for distributing calendars with Falun Gong content on December 16, 2017. He was arrested by officers from the Landi Town Police Station. His home was ransacked.

Mr. Gao is in criminal detention in the Pingdu City Detention Center.

9. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Mao Renrong, Ms. Zheng Cuiyu, and Ms. Chen Guiying were arrested on November 20, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong in Muzidian Town.

The three practitioners are being held in the Macheng City Detention Center.

10. [Xiantao City, Hubei Province] Five Practitioners Tried

Mr. Liu Xiong, Mr. Hu Fengcheng, Mr. Liu Jun, Ms. Yang Dongmei, and Ms. Zhang Jiaqing were tried in the Zongkou Courtroom, Qianjiang City Court, on December 7, 2017.

11. [Bei'an City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Officially Arrested

Mr. Ma Yitao, Ms. Sheng Chunxia, Mr. Li Xueliang, and Ms. Ma Yingjie were arrested by officers from the Bei'an City Police Department on September 10, 2017.

The four practitioners were officially arrested and held separately in the Tongbei Forestry Bureau Police Department's Detention Center and the Suihua City Detention Center.

Ms. Liu Rongping from the Beilin District, Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province, was arrested by officers from the Xianfeng Police Station in Beilin, and the Taiping Police Station in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province on December 20, 2017.

Ms. Hu Yuekun from the Longfeng District was sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Daqing City Intermediate Court in early December 2017. She was taken to the Heilongjiang Women's Prison on December 12.

Ms. Jin Yingjie was arrested at home by police on December 19, 2017. She is being held in the Gu'an County Detention Center.

15. [Qinglong County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wu Chunhuan Arrested

Ms. Wu Chunhuan was arrested and her home was ransacked on December 24, 2017.
