Additional Persecution News from China – December 23, 2017 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 21 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Mr. Yang Zhiping Arrested

Mr. Yang Zhiping went missing in December 2017. It was reported recently that he was arrested.

2. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qi Yuling Detained

Ms. Qi Yuling, 59, from Xicheng District, Beijing, was arrested in Haiyang City, Yantai City. She was officially arrested on September 9, 2017. She has been held in the Yantai City Detention Center for nearly six months.

3. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Ma Wu and Wife Ms. Wei Yuzhen Arrested

Mr. Ma Wu and his wife Ms. Wei Yuzhen were arrested and their home was ransacked by officers from the Nanzhao Police Department.

4. [Heshan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhang Liangnu Arrested

Ms. Zhang Liangnu from Gongyukeng Village, Hecheng Town, was arrested at her rented home by the local 610 Office on December 12, 2017. Her whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Susong County, Anhui Province] Ms. Tang Hexiang Tortured

Ms. Tang Hexiang was arrested at her florist shop by officers from the Anqing Domestic Security Division and the Susong County Domestic Security Division on the morning of January 16, 2007. She was held in the Anqing City No. 2 Detention Center, where she was tortured when the officers coerced her to extract information. She was also threatened that her husband would lose his job as a public official.

6. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners' Homes Ransacked

Du Zhao, deputy head of the Huangzhou District Domestic Security Division and three others broke into Ms. Shao Lianying's home and ransacked it on December 17, 2017. They confiscated Zhuan Falun and Falun Gong materials.

Subsequently, Du and six others broke into the homes of Ms. Chen Shuping and Ms. Lu Li'an and ransacked them. They confiscated Falun Gong books, materials, and calendars which contained information about Falun Gong.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Rui Detained

Ms. Wu Rui went suddenly missing. Her family asked around and learned one week later that she was arrested on November 7, 2017. Ms. Wu was taken to a detention center after being secretly held in a place in the Liyuan area for seven days.

8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Yuqiong Given a One-Year Prison Term

Ms. Li Yuqiong was arrested on July 28, 2017. She was held in the Pi County Detention Center. She was tried by the Tielu Court on November 24. She was sentenced to one year in prison and fined 2,000 yuan.

9. [Zigong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ni Hongyu Arrested

Ms. Ni Hongyu, about 60, was arrested. Her whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Wensheng Given a Two-Year-and-Six-Month Prison Term

Mr. Li Wensheng was given a two-year-and-six-month prison term on December 21, 2017.

11. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Yanliang Detained

Ms. Zhang Yanliang from Zhucaoying Town was reported by Shi Lijun, Party secretary in Dongbuluo Village, for talking to people about Falun Gong on December 21, 2017. She was arrested and taken to the Qinhuangdao Detention Center by officers from the Zhucaoying Town Police Station. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a computer and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.

12. [Qinglong County, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Badaohe Town Police Station broke into Ms. Han Chunxiang's home in Badaohe Village on the morning of October 22, 2017. Ms. Han was arrested and taken to the police station. No further information on her current situation is available.

Ms. Qi Wenfeng was arrested on December 22, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong materials. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Officers from the Tumenzi Town Police Station broke into Ms. Duan Guiping's home in Jingzhangzi Village and ransacked it on the morning of December 20, 2017. They arrested Ms. Duan. She is held in the Qinglong County Detention Center.

13. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhou Jingchun's Home Ransacked

Three officers from the Yongyang Town Police Station broke into Mr. Zhou Jingchun's home in Zhoujiazhuang Village on the morning of December 18, 2017. There was no one at home. The officers climbed over the wall, banged on the door, and then pried open the lock. They confiscated two copies of Zhuan Falun and several copies of Minghui Weekly.

14. [Jingxing County, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Seven or eight officers led by Wang Xiting, head of the Jingxing County Domestic Security Division, broke into Ms. Qi Lixia's home and arrested her on the morning of October 30, 2017. They confiscated Falun Gong books, a music player, and a cell phone, Ms. Qi was taken to the Shijiazhuang Detention Center for seven days of detention. She was released in early November.

Ms. Li Xinhua and Ms. Zhang Rongmei were reported for talking to people about Falun Gong and handing out calendars on the afternoon of December 13, 2017. The two practitioners were arrested and taken to the Xiaozuo Town Police Station, where the officers coerced the two practitioners in order to extract information and forced them to sign paperwork.

Officers from the Xiaozuo Town Police Station ransacked the homes of Ms. Li and Ms. Zhang the following morning. They confiscated Falun Gong books, photos of the founder, DVDs of Falun Gong lectures, printed materials, and paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them.

Ms. Li and Ms. Zhang were taken to the Shijiazhuang Detention Center on the afternoon of December 14. Ms. Li was found to have high blood pressure during a physical exam. The officers held her mouth open and force-fed medicine down her throat. Ms. Li was taken home that evening. It was reported that Ms. Zhang will be detained for 15 days.

15. [Qinglong County, Hebei Province] Mr. Jiang Shoudong Arrested

Four officers from the Qinglong Town Police Station broke into Mr. Jiang Shoudong's home in Sanchayushu Village on the afternoon of December 18, 2017. Mr. Jiang was taken to the police station. Later, family and the village officials went to the police station and brought him back home.

16. [Changli County, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners and Three Non-Practitioners Arrested

Three non-practitioners (Mr. He Yongjiang, Mr. He Xide, and Mr. Li Guoxing) and four practitioners (Mr. He Yongfang, Mr. Li Yanjun, Ms. Wang Xiuhua, and Ms. Li Dongyun) were arrested by Gao Jieli and other officers from the Changli County Domestic Security Division in the Houmatuodian area on the evening of December 18, 2017 for calling for the release of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Shaoping.

The homes of Mr. He Yongfang and Mr. Li Yanjun were ransacked.
