(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhang Alian was first arrested on December 21, 2015 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. The Jurong City resident was later released on bail, but police took her back into custody on July 4, 2017. Agents from the local Huayang Police Station were responsible for her both arrests.
Ms. Zhang was told around the New Year that she has been sentenced to one year in prison, but to date she has not been given a written copy of her indictment or verdict.
She remains at Zhenjiang City Detention Center.
