Bern, Switzerland: Introducing Falun Gong at the Asian Festival
(Minghui.org) The annual Asian Festival was held in Bern, Switzerland over the last weekend of August. Many people attended the three-day event. The local Falun Gong group joined the festivities with a booth, affording many people the opportunity to learn more about the practice and the persecution in China.
Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises on stage, and some visitors took the opportunity to learn on the spot.
Many visitors signed a petition to protest the persecution in China. After hearing about Falun Gong’s core principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, one lady said, “This is what we need. If everyone follows it, there would be no corruption and suppression.”
A young man said that he saw many practicing Falun Gong when he toured Thailand. He remembers being impressed by the serenity of what he saw. Hearing about the violent persecution and state-sanctioned organ atrocities in China, he signed the petition right away.
A man from Tibet was shocked at the Chinese regime’s brutality and wanted to learn more about the live organ harvesting. He commended the practitioners for what they were doing to end the persecution. He said, “You are great! Please give me more information.”
Some practitioners demonstrated the exercises next to the booth. Many visitors paused to watch. One lady said she wanted to learn. She took some flyers and said she would place them in her shop for her customers.
Practitioners folded beautiful origami lotus flowers at the booth. Many parents brought their children to learn how to do it. The practitioners encouraged the children to remember Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in their hearts.
Some practitioners made sheets of Chinese calligraphy with words like, “The world needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” “Falun Dafa is good,” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-forbearance is good.” The visitors who received the calligraphy as gifts were pleased.
Falun Gong is embraced in over 100 countries across the world despite 18 years of persecution in China.
