Clarifying the Truth at Tourist Attractions
(Minghui.org) Master told us:
“There is an increasing number of tourist groups from mainland China nowadays. This is an arrangement for people to hear the truth in a different setting. Our truth-clarification sites are, in fact, the front line—the front line for clarifying the truth.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2013 Western U.S. Fa Conference”)
I clearly remembered Master’s words and thus clarified the truth at a tourist attraction site and other practitioners joined me over the years.
Some practitioners demonstrate the exercises, some broadcast the truth-clarification audio, some distribute informational materials, and others talk to the Chinese tourists about quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations. We have formed one body by cooperating and helping each other.
Looking Within When Meeting with Conflicts
On last year's Chinese New Year's Eve, four practitioners came to the site instead of spending New Year's Eve at home. That day there were many more Chinese tourists. We cooperated with each other well, kept our hearts pure and minds peaceful.
I thought that a practitioner’s way of clarifying the truth was not proper, and might cause everyday people to misunderstand us. I tried to talk to him, but it turned into an argument, which evolved into a conflict and finally ended up with an unhappy relationship. Then, I realized that if everyday people saw us acting like that, it could bring adverse effects and damage Dafa's image.
But, Master has given us a magic weapon of “looking within.”
“When you meet with a conflict, it doesn’t matter whether you are in the right. You should be asking yourself, “What on my part isn’t right in this situation? Might it really be that there is something wrong on my part?” You should all be thinking this way, with your first thought being to scrutinize yourself to try to find the problem. Whoever is not like this is not in fact a true cultivator of Dafa. It is a magical tool in our cultivation. This is a distinguishing feature of our Dafa disciples’ cultivation. Whatever it is that you encounter, the first thought should be to scrutinize yourself, and it’s called ‘looking within.’” (“What is a Dafa Disciple” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference XI )
After the conflict, I recited Master's Fa every morning when I opened my eyes. Once the Fa was clear in my mind, and I could really look within, I found my problem: When I had spoken with the other practitioner my attitude was bossy and not compassionate, which made it difficult for him to accept.
When this practitioner pointed out my fault, I was resentful and argumentative. Selfishness from the old universe had prevented me from letting go of my self-interest, so I tried to protect myself from being hurt.
I realized that this conflict had also caused my leg pain and I could only sit for half-an-hour during meditation. This was a good chance to completely let go of my attachments.
I could not let the old forces win by creating a division with this practitioner. Master saw that I wanted to improve, and helped me. That night I dreamed that Master was adjusting my body.
After I woke up I no longer had the leg pain and could meditate for the full hour and I also realized that Master helped me open and expand the capacity of my heart!
All resentment towards that practitioner was gone and I apologized to him. We again are cooperating well with each other.
Through this incident, I understand a deeper meaning of the Fa. Master has the ability to help us get rid of all bad attachments and substances, but the premise is that we should cultivate ourselves!
We have to fundamentally realize our problem, put down the concept of ordinary people, and break the concept of selfishness from the old universe, so as to enlighten to selflessness and altruism in the new universe.
