(Minghui.org) Ms. Tan Yanling, a Falun Gong practitioner from Hegang City, was arrested on May 9, 2017 for distributing information about Falun Gong and its persecution by the Chinese communist regime.

She was taken to the Guangming police station where police officer Xing Huanmin searched her body and confiscated 217 yuan, her house keys and passbook. Then, she was locked in a metal cage.

In the afternoon, officers ransacked her house and confiscated many items, including Falun Gong books and two cellphones.

During interrogation, Ms. Tan was tied to an iron chair and subsequently locked in a cage once her statement was recorded.

Officers later took her to another police station to record her personal information. When she refused to be fingerprinted, officers separated her fingers and took her fingerprints by force.

When officers tried to take her saliva, Ms. Tan refused to open her mouth. The officers used a device to force her mouth open, causing her gums to bleed. They took feces from the restroom and smeared it into her mouth.

When she refused to be photographed, officer Ma Haoyang slapped her face twice.

Ms. Tan was later taken to a detention center for half a month despite having high blood pressure.

After she was released, she returned to the police station to ask for the return of items confiscated from her home. The police kept her cellphone for one week to monitor it and to make harassing calls to her family.

Ms. Tan was previously arrested in 2014 after reporting police brutality against her sister.
