(Minghui.org) A 66-year-old woman in Jilin City, Jilin Province has been subjected to various forms of abuse for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Ms. Wang Wenjun was arrested on June 16, 2015, after she filed a criminal complaint against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong. She was sentenced to 3 years in prison in late 2015.
Her family visited her at Jilin Province Women’s Prison in early July 2017 and noted she was in poor health. She complained about high blood pressure and edema. She also revealed that she had been kept in the “strict management section,” where she was forced to sit on a small bench for extended periods of time every day.
Guard Gao denied that Ms. Wang was abused and said she didn’t appear out of the ordinary. Ms. Wang’s family pressed for more information, and Gao admitted that they were instructed to try everything possible to make Falun Gong practitioners give up their belief.
Worried about her condition, Ms. Wang’s loved ones returned to the prison on July 13, but this time they were not allowed to see her.
