Additional Persecution News from China – June 11, 2017 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 10 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Tang Guilin Officially Arrested

Ms. Tang Guilin was arrested by officers from the Cuigezhuang Police Station on the afternoon of April 5, 2017. She was officially placed under arrest on May 11.

2. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhen Shulan Arrested

Ms. Zhen Shulan, 77, was arrested by several plainclothes officers from the Daqing City Police Department on the afternoon on June 8, 2017. She was taken to Qiqihar City that afternoon. It is not clear where she is being held.

3. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zuo Hongtao and his non-practitioner wife from the Shanhaiguan District were arrested by officers from the Lunan Police Station on the afternoon of June 9, 2017. Their home was ransacked that evening.

In addition, several other practitioners were arrested including a practitioner with the last name Yang, and another with the last name Liu. Ms. Yuan left home on the afternoon of June 10, and did not return. She is held in the Qinhuangdao City No. 1 Detention Center.

4. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhu Jiqin Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Chen Weiqin and Ms. Zhu Jiqin from Baoshan District were arrested on May 13, 2017. Ms. Chen, in her 70s, was released a few days ago. Ms. Zhu was detained for 10 days and then taken to the Shanghai Municipal Brainwashing Center.

5. [Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Liu Zhengfu and Ms. Wang Chunfang Arrested

Ms. Liu Zhengfu, 77, and Ms. Wang Chunfang, 71, were arrested by officers from the Yugou Town Police Station on the morning of May 31, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong materials. The officers ransacked their homes that afternoon and confiscated Falun Gong books, printed materials, a tablet, and a cell phone. Ms. Wang returned home that afternoon. Ms. Liu returned home early the next morning.

6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Xiuxia Arrested

Officers from the High-tech Zone Domestic Security Division and the Gangcheng Police Station broke into Ma. Sun Xiuxia's home and ransacked it on June 6, 2017. They arrested Ms. Sun and her husband.

The officers broke into Ms. Li Xiufeng's home that afternoon and ransacked it. They confiscated a pack of shopping bags and a dozen Falun Gong truth clarification printouts.

7. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Xie Fenglian and four other practitioners were arrested on the afternoon of June 7, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. The officers ransacked Ms. Xie's home and confiscated Falun Gong books.

8. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Hongyan Detained

More than ten officers from the Xinwang Police Station, including Wang Haibin, and others from the Nanjiao Domestic Security Division, including deputy head Li, went to Ms. Li Hongyan's home on the evening of May 31, 2017.

They cut a circuit breaker outside her home. When a family member came to check the circuit breaker, officers rushed into Ms. Li's home. They pushed Ms. Li and her husband down to the ground and ransacked their home.

Ms. Li was arrested and taken to the Datong Detention Center that evening. She was taken to the Chenzhuang Detention Center the following day. She has been held there since then.

9. [Hongjiang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhu Yu'an Given a Four-Year Prison Term

Ms. Zhu Yu'an was arrested on June 16, 2016. She was given a four-year prison term by the Hongjiang City Court. Her family did not receive the indictment or the verdict. Ms. Zhu is held in the Changsha Women's Prison.

10. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Meirong and Ms. Zhang Yuemei Detained

Ms. Wang Meirong from Pingdu City and Ms. Zhang Yuemei from Qiegezhuang Village, Jiudian Town, were arrested by officers from the Datian Police Station on June 8, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong in the countryside. Both practitioners were taken to the Pudong Detention Center, Jimo City.

11. [Xiantao City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Qingjiang and Ms. Mao Guizhi Arrested

Ms. Chen Qingjiang and Ms. Mao Guizhi were arrested on the morning of June 8, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong in a local food market. Their current whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Mr. Yan Fuxiang Displaced

Eight officers from the Ji County Police Department, Tianjin, and the Xiliucun Township Police Station, Zunhua City, broke into Mr. Yan Fuxiang's home in Puchihe Village and arrested him on the afternoon of March 14, 2017. Mr. Yan was taken to the Xiliu Township Police Station. The police released Mr. Yan that evening and demanded 10,000 yuan from his family. The officers went to Yan's home twice on Mach 15, and March 16 and claimed that they would arrest him again if the family failed to pay them 10,000 yuan. Mr. Yan was not at home at that time. He was forced to leave home and become displaced.

13. [Chongqing] Several Practitioners Persecuted for Suing Jiang Zemin

Several practitioners from Sanjiang Town, Qijiang District, were persecuted for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime, who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Zhou Jilian was detained for 15 days in August 2016. Mr. Zhang Huaming was detained for 15 days in September 2016. Ms. Wu Zezhen, Mr. Deng Liquan, Mr. Xiao Shengshu, and Mr. Chen Sihua were harassed at home. Mr. Xiao Maochao was harassed over the phone.
