Additional Persecution News from China – December 5, 2017 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 10 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 5 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Zheng Detained

Mr. Wang Zheng from the Fengtai District was arrested at his home by a group of police officers on November 11, 2017. The officers confiscated his Falun Gong books.

Mr. Wang is being held in the Fengtai Detention Center.

2. [Beijing] Mr. Tang Guilin Sentenced to a Two-Year Prison Term

Mr. Tang Guilin was tried in the Wenyuhe Court, the Chaoyang District, on September 14, 2017. He was sentenced to a two-year prison term.

3. [Hunchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ji Jun Detained

Ms. Ji Ju was arrested on December 1, 2017, for distributing Falun Gong calendars. She is being held in a detention center.

4. [Jintang County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Xiang Qingshan Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Xiang Qingshan was arrested by officers from the Jintang Domestic Security Division and the Yangliu Police Station on the evening of November 13, 2017.

The Jintang Court secretly sentenced him to prison without notifying his family or lawyer.

5. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Zonggang Detained

Mr. Liu Zonggang from Hualong Town was arrested on September 29, 2017. He was held in the Qingzhou City Detention Center for 25 days.

6. [Shihezi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Mr. Zhao Binglin Abused in Detention

Mr. Zhao Binglin from Dongye Town was arrested by officers from the Xiayedi Domestic Security Division and the Dongye Town Police Station on July 20, 2017. His home was ransacked.

He was interrogated and tied to a tiger bench in the Shihezi City Detention Center. He was put under house arrest upon his release.

7. [Leting County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Zhiqin and His Wife Ms. Cao Yachun Detained

Mr. Wang Zhiqin and his wife Ms. Cao Yachun from Xiaoheyan Village, Xinzhai Town, were arrested by officers from the Leting County Domestic Security Division and the Matouying Police Station on December 1, 2017.

Mr. Wang and Ms. Cao were taken to the Leting Detention Center.

8. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Rui Sentenced to a Three-Year Prison Term

Mr. Wang Rui from Luanping County was sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Luanping County Court, after being detained for eight months.

9. [Lishui City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Shen Yanxia Arrested

Ms. Shen Yanxia was arrested by the Liandu District police and residential community personnel on November 23, 2017. Her whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Ms. Peng Yaxin Mistreated in Detention

Ms. Peng Yaxin was sentenced to a two-year prison term in the Shayang Court. She has appealed to the Jingmen City Intermediate Court.

Ms. Peng is being held in a detention center. She has been mistreated while in detention, and has suffered from digestion problems for a long time. She is very thin and cannot walk properly.

11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sha Hui Taken to Prison

Ms. Sha Hui was arrested on November 9, 2016, and was sentenced to an 18-month prison term by the Zhuanghe Court.

Ms. Sha was taken to the Liaoning Women's Prison on November 21, 2017.

12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liang Zhihong Taken Into Custody

Officer Wu, from the Shenbei New Area Police Department, and others broke into Mr. Liang Zhihong's home in the Lubanshangpin Residential Community, the Daoyi District and arrested him on December 4, 2017.

Mr. Liang is being held in the Shenbei New Area Police Department.

13. [Chongqing] Mr. Hong Liu Officially Arrested

Mr. Hong Liu from the Yubei District was detained for 37 days in the Yubei Detention Center. He was transferred to the Shuangyuyuan Resort Brainwashing Center for a month.

The Yubei District Procuratorate officially placed Mr. Hong under arrest on November 24, 2017.

14. [Chongqing] Ms. Yang Longmei Sentenced to a Three-Year Prison Term

Ms. Yang Longmei was arrested by officers from the Datong Police Station in March 2017. She was taken to the Qijiang Detention Center, and went on hunger strike to protest the persecution. She was released in early October 2017.

Ms. Yang was arrested in mid-October by officers from the Qiaohe Police Station. She was taken to a detention center, and was later sentenced to a three-year prison term.
