Additional Persecution News from China – November 9, 2017 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 20 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 13 were illegally arrested.

1. [Foshan City, Guangdong Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Jian Shunyi, Ms. Li Lina, Ms. Jian Runling, Mr. Yu Ruiming, Ms. Li Yanqun, Ms. Hu Meijuan, Ms. Zhou Cailing, Mr. Tan Hao, and Ms. Dai Yinqiong were threatened, and their homes ransacked by Zeng Qiang, head of the Foshan City 610 Office, and officers from the Zumiao Police Station and the Pujun Police Station on October 13, 2017.

The practitioners were taken to the Zumiao Police Station, where they were forced to go through interrogation with transcripts and to sign statements. They were photographed and their saliva was tested.

2. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Several Practitioners Detained

Nearly 20 practitioners were arrested by officers from the Yuetang District Domestic Security Division and the Yuhu District Domestic Security Division on August 14, 2017. Mr. Peng Shiqing, Mr. Zeng Gu, Mr. Wang Qingsheng, Ms. Suo Jiyan, and Mr. Liu Manyan remain in custody.

3. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Four practitioners from Zhuqiao Town were arrested by Liu Jingbing, head of the Laizhou City Domestic Security Division's 610 Office, when they went to the Domestic Security Division on November 5, 2017. They demanded that the 3,000 yuan in fines extorted from each of them be returned. They were taken to the Yantai Detention Center.

Ms. Liu Xiaozhen from Liujia Village was taken back home that evening because of her high blood pressure. Ms. Liu Zhilan (from Wangjia Village), Ms. Shi Xiuyao (from Shijia Village), and Ms. Liu Hanxiang (from Shijia Village) remain in custody.

4. [Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Tao Hongfang and Ms. Deng Zhenzhen Detained

Ms. Tao Hongfang and Ms. Deng Zhenzhen, both in their 50s, were arrested last week for talking to people about Falun Gong. They are being held in the Zhongxiang City Train Station Detention Center.

5. [Heyuan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Qiu Denong Arrested

Mr. Qiu Denong was arrested by officers from the Dongyuan County Police Department, the Chuantang Town Police Station, and Residential Committee staff on October 13, 2017. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated over 2,000 yuan in cash, two computers, seven printers, a DVD burner, and a laminator. These items are worth about 10,000 yuan. Mr. Qiu was taken to the Chuantang Town Police Station then to a detention center. He was taken home that evening.

6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Han Zhongyi Taken to Prison

Mr. Han Zhongyi was given a two-year prison term. He was taken to the Hulan Prison.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Guo Guilan and Another Practitioner Detained

Ms. Guo Guilan and another practitioner were reported for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong informational materials on the morning of November 3, 2017. They were arrested and taken to the Dunyang Police Station. They were then taken to the Erzhigou Detention Center.

8. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Yujun Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Li Yujun received a verdict from the Longkou City Court in the Yantai Detention Center on October 25, 2017. She was given a three-and-a-half-year prison term and fined 10,000 yuan.

9. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Shimei Given a Six-Month Prison Term

Ms. Xu Shimei was tried at the Huangdao District Court on the morning of November 7, 2017. She was given a six-month prison term. She is being held in the Pudong Detention Center.

Ms. Li Lianrong from Hongwei Farm was arrested by officers from the Hongwei Farm Police Department on October 13, 2017. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Qin Yanqiu and Ms. Dong Meiying were officially placed under arrest.

Ms. Wen Junqing was arrested on October 19, 2017. She is being held in the Yanqing District Detention Center.

13. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Liangmin in Critical Condition Due to Persecution

Mr. Liu Liangmin is in critical condition as a result of persecution.

14. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Xu Xueqin Arrested

Ms. Xu Xueqin was arrested on the evening of November 7, 2017.

Ms. Zhang Libin from Mo'erdaoga Town, Ergun City, Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, was arrested in Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province on the afternoon of October 19, 2017. Shee was placed in administrative detention for 15 days. Afterwards, she was placed in criminal detention.
