“Clarifying the facts and saving sentient beings are what you need to accomplish. There is nothing else for you to accomplish. There is nothing else in this world that you need to accomplish.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2015 New York Fa Conference”)
It has been many years since I began to practice Falun Dafa and can thus be considered a veteran Falun Dafa practitioner. I walk steady on my cultivation path, study the Fa in the mornings and go out to clarify the facts about Dafa in the afternoons, rain or shine.
Test or Wake-up Call
I was reciting Lunyu one morning and could not remember two sentences. When I got up to get Zhuan Falun, I felt a sharp pain when I bent over. I could not straighten my body, and could move only a few steps at a time. It dawned on me that I needed to send forth righteous thoughts.
Master's Fa enlightened us concerning such incidents,
“Currently, whether it is karma elimination or interference from evil factors, that is all the work of the old forces. It’s all the same—they are just called different names. I am against all that the old forces do. I don’t accept any of it. ”(“Fa Teaching at the 2013 Greater New York Fa Conference”)
Therefore, I sat down, crossed my legs, and put my hand vertically in front of my chest.
I said, “I'm Master Li Hongzhi's disciple. I don't accept any other arrangement and only follow Master's arrangements. I have shortcomings in my cultivation, but the evil doesn't deserve to test me or interfere with my cultivation. Master and righteous gods are protecting me. I will correct myself according to Dafa. If the evil dares to persecute me, it will be eliminated, from the micro to the macro level. Let the evil factors be completely disintegrated!”
I felt better for half an hour after sending forth righteous thoughts. When it was time to leave for group Fa study, I decided to attend. I told my fellow practitioners about it. They told me not to put my mind on the false appearance, and any test could be passed with righteous thoughts and strong faith.
Finding Fault
I looked inward, and found that I was not diligent during the recent New Years festivities. My children came to visit. I enjoyed their company, and made sure that they were comfortable, but forgot my mission. I did not study the Fa or send forth righteous thoughts on time, but I did the morning exercises. During the entire time, I only studied one lecture of the Fa, and did not talk to people about Dafa.
Even though I tried to make up for all I missed after my family left, I could not concentrate when studying the Fa or sending forth righteous thoughts. Besides, my truth clarification was ineffective.
After finding my problem, I began to send forth righteous thoughts intensively, and spent more time on doing the exercises, while ignoring the pain.
Every time I sent forth righteous thoughts I said, “I'm the master of my body. Everything is under Master's control. I have to disintegrate the evil spirit persecuting me. I can't hurt Dafa's image because of my pain. I must be strong!”
On the fourth morning, the pain suddenly disappeared when I was doing the fourth exercise. I experienced what Master described in his poem,
“Disciples’ righteous thoughts are strongMaster has the power to turn the tide” (“Master-Disciple Grace” from Hong Yin II)
I experienced the power of righteous thoughts and Fa study, and learned how serious cultivation is. Cultivation doesn't allow a moment of slacking off. Cultivators have no holiday break.
