Arrested Twice and Harassed for Practicing Falun Gong
(Minghui.org) Ms. Tian Zhixian has been arrested twice, harassed, and monitored by police for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the communist regime.
On July 1, 2008, four men broke into Ms. Tian's home in Dakanxia Village, Baoding City and arrested her. They confiscated her MP3 player and took her to the No.3 Division of the Shenxing Criminal Police in Mancheng County. Those who participated in the arrest included Officer Liu Dongdong from the Bailong Township Police Station and Guo Zhan from the township government.
They interrogated her and demanded she tell them who introduced her to Falun Gong and threatened to take her to a forced labor camp if she refused to write a guarantee statement renouncing her faith.
Under pressure, Ms. Tian signed the statement. She was released in the afternoon. However, she was subsequently harassed at her home by personnel from the township government, including Li Dadong, Wu Duo, Zhang Shui, and village cadre Wei Jianguo. They demanded that she not leave the village without their approval.
Ms. Tian was arrested again on August 16, 2010. Her home was ransacked by around 30 people from the Mancheng County Police Department, the local Domestic Security Division, the 610 Office, the Bailong Township Police Station, the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and the village committee.
They arrested Ms. Tian and took her to the No.3 Division of the Shenxing Criminal Police Force. Despite threats of being sent to a forced labor camp, she refused to cooperate. She was released at 1:00 a.m.
Ms. Tian's husband lived under great stress as a result of her arrests and harassment by police. He suffered a mental breakdown and opposed her practice of Falun Gong. He beat and berated her, changed the house lock several times to stop her from entering, and threatened her with divorce.
Giving Up Bad Habits and Improving Relationships After Learning Falun Gong
Ms. Tian used to suffer painful cramps and headaches before she practiced Falun Gong. She also drank, smoked, and had a bad temper.
A Falun Gong practitioner told her father about the spiritual practice when he became ill in December 2003. Her sister started to practice Falun Gong and encouraged her.
She listened to Falun Gong lectures on her MP3 player and learned how cultivation can change one's character.
She soon gave up smoking and drinking, and she learned to be more considerate of others by following the Falun Gong principles Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
She also improved her relationship with her parents-in-law. When her father-in-law got sick, she took good care of him. Moved by her kindness and sincerity, he apologized for his past behavior toward her.
