Additional Persecution News from China – August 31, 2016 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 22 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Du Sufen Detained

Ms. Du Sufen from Musi Village in Jiuyou Neighborhood, Fangzi District was arrested by officers from the Gaoxin District Domestic Security Division on August 6, 2016. The officers confiscated her Falun Gong books. She is being held in the Weifang City Detention Center.

2. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yin Lijuan and Mr. Liu Qiyan Arrested

Ms. Yin Lijuan and Mr. Liu Qiyan from the Huagong Residential Community in the Lianshan District were arrested by plainclothes officers when they talked to people about Falun Gong in the Huagong area on the afternoon of August 30, 2016. Both practitioners are being held in the Huagong Police Station.

3. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Yongfen Detained

Ms. Liu Yongfen was arrested by plainclothes officers when she talked to people about Falun Gong in the Shifeng District on August 27, 2016. Officers from the Qingshuitang Police Station transferred her to the Zhuzhou City Detention Center where she was held for 15 days.

4. [Meitan County, Guizhou Province] Ms. Yang Runyue Detained

Ms. Yang Runyue was arrested while distributing Falun Gong informational materials on August 15, 2016. She is being held in the Zunyi No. 2 Detention Center.

5. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Zhencheng Arrested

Mr. Wang Zhengcheng from Guye District was reported to the authorities for talking to people about the persecution at the Qingtuoying Town Farmers Market in Luannan County. He was arrested on the morning of August 30, 2016.

6. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Jianmei and Mr. Wang Bin Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Li Jianmei and Mr. Wang Bin from Huaiyin District were sentenced to nine years and seven years in prison respectively.

7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Long Zhongjia, Ms. Zhang Jinmei and her daughter from Dazhuge Village in Jiaozhou City were arrested and taken to the police station on August 29, 2016.

Ms. Zhao Jinmei from Xiguanzhuang Village in Jiaozhou City was arrested on the evening of August 14, 2016. She was detained in the police station for 15 days.

8. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Xian Fenglan Detained

Ms. Xian Fenglan from Zhuji Township was arrested by officers from the Huaiyang County 610 Office for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Zhoukou City Detention Center.

9. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Ning Xuhong Arrested

Mr. Ning Xuhong was arrested at home on August 25, 2016.

10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Fengxia, Ms. Yu Qing, and Ms. Gao Guizhen from Nangang District were arrested on August 22, 2016.

11. [Xiangxi City, Hunan Province] Ms. Tang Jinlian Detained

Ms. Tang Jinlian was arrested at home by officers from the Qianling Town Police Station in Baojing County on the morning of June 12, 2016. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials. She was held in a detention center for two days.

12. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Li Dimei Detained

Ms. Li Dimei, in her 60s, was arrested when she distributed Falun Gong informational materials on August 13, 2016. She was held in the Hefei City Detention Center for 15 days before being released on August 29, 2016.

13. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Li Leping, teacher Wang, Ms. He and Ms. Zhang Ruixia from Jiangnan District were arrested by officers from the Songyuan City No. 2 Police Department on August 29, 2016.

A practitioner with the surname Jiang from the Hongqi Farm was arrested on the morning of August 32, 2016.

14. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Yongqing Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Yongqing from Shizhong District was arrested for suing Jiang Zemin. He was sentenced to three years in prison by the Shizhong District Court on August 30, 2016.

15. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Lejun, Ms. Niu Peijuan, and Ms. Chen Suoyan were sentenced to prison by the Dengta City Court on August 23, 2016. Mr. Wang was sentenced to four years, while Ms. Niu and Ms. Chen were sentenced to three years with five years of probation.

The three practitioners were arrested by officers from the Dengta City Police Department and the Domestic Security Division on November 22, 2015. Mr. Wang is being held in the Huazi Detention Center and Ms. Niu and Ms. Chen in the Liaoyang City Detention Center.

16. [Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Feng Dijian Arrested

Ms. Huang Lingyan's husband Mr. Feng Dijian from Sihui City was arrested at home in Zhaoqing City by officers from the Baisha Police Station on August 26, 2016.

17. [Shanghai] Ms. Chen Hua and Ms. Wang Kehui Detained

Ms. Chen Huan and Ms. Wang Kehui were recently arrested and held in the Jing'an Detention Center.

18. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wan Dajiu Sentenced to Prison

The Hanyang District Court sentenced Mr. Wan Dajiu to four years in prison on April 25, 2016. Mr. Wan appealed to the Wuhan City Intermediate Court, but the court upheld the original sentencing without a hearing.
