(Minghui.org) As practitioners of Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) continue their efforts to raise awareness of the persecution of their faith, many law enforcement officers have begun to reduce their participation in the persecution. The following two readers’ letters, written by practitioners, tell of the police’s changing attitude.

Police Refuse to Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners

On an evening at the end of July, two female Falun Gong practitioners were putting up posters about Falun Gong and its persecution in Liucheng City, Shandong Province. A man passed by them, and then came back.

He held onto one practitioner's bike and would not let it go. This practitioner told him about Falun Gong and at the same time signaled the other practitioner to leave, but the man grabbed the other practitioner and began to call the police.

When the police arrived, they told the man that they did not want to deal with it. The man still tried to search one practitioner, but the two practitioners left without any trouble.

Police Release Falun Gong Practitioners

When another practitioner and I were on our way home on the afternoon of April 19, 2016, we decided to walk instead taking the bus. We wanted to tell people about Falun Gong along the way.

We first met a middle-aged man. After I talked to him, he agreed to quit the Communist Youth League. He accepted some materials and left.

However, he came back a few minutes later with a few men. They surrounded us and called the police. The police took us to the police station.

At the police station, I told the police about Falun Gong, about the principle of karmic retribution, and how the Roman Empire collapsed because they persecuted Christians. Most of the police officers listened carefully. One of them repeated “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is good” twice. Another agreed to immediately withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party.

Later most of the police officers left the room. My son was called to come take me home. Another practitioner held at the police station was released as well.
