(Minghui.org) My brother-in-law is a big supporter of Falun Dafa even though he does not practice. Over time he has learned that Falun Dafa is beneficial for healing and fitness. More importantly, he has witnessed how those who practice act according to Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, the foundational principles of Falun Dafa.
He has been very impressed by the kindness, peacefulness and forgiveness he has witnessed from Falun Dafa practitioners.
My brother-in-law is a marble worker. A few years ago, he was installing marble for a resident of a suburban. Suddenly, people began running to an area where a security guard was beating up someone.
While still holding on to his hammer, my brother-in-law ran downstairs to see what was happening. He saw that a security guard was beating someone who had come to distribute information about Falun Dafa.
The security guard was swearing at him and beating him while other security guards cheered him on. The bystanders were too scared to do anything. Falun Dafa practitioners do not fight back when beaten or sworn at, so the security guard knew he could do what he wanted without retaliation.
My brother-in-law saw that this man was being beaten for no other reason except that he practiced Falun Dafa and wanted to tell others about the goodness of the practice. So he stepped in front of the security guard and confronted him.
He said: “You have gone too far! You are beating this man who does not fight back. Let him go and return his materials to him!”
The security guard noticed my brother-in-law had a hammer in his hand and was probably not someone to challenge, so he stopped and walked away.
Afterwards, the security guard reported him to the police. The next day, several policemen arrived in the residential area to arrest my brother-in-law.
A policeman asked: “Are you a Falun Dafa practitioner?”
“No, but I know that Falun Dafa practitioners are all good people,” my brother-in-law replied.
“Why did you get involved in this matter?” asked the officer.
“That security guard was out of line. That Falun Dafa practitioner only came to the residential area to hand out some materials about Falun Dafa. He was not committing any crime. Why was he beaten up like that? I could not stand by and let it happen.”
The policeman did not know what to say, but refused to let him go. My brother-in-law was not free to go until some friends of his asked an influential person for help.
Everything has been well with my brother-in-law and his family ever since the day he stepped in to help that Falun Dafa practitioner. For instance, at work he is being protected because he protected the practitioner. My brother-in-law has encountered many dangerous situations, but always narrowly escaped harm.
His wife, my sister, runs a hotel. Business had not been great. However, after her husband protected the practitioner, my sister’s business has been booming. Their son's business has also improved a lot.
The whole family knows that all of these events and changes are the results of their recognition and support of Falun Dafa practitioners. My entire family now has a greater respect for Falun Dafa, Master Li (its founder), and all who practice.
