Additional Persecution News from China – May 21, 2016 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 4 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 24 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Huarong County, Guangdong Province] Ms. Duan Shumei Arrested

Ms. Duan Shumei was arrested by Bai Junping, head of the Huarong County Domestic Security Division, and other officers on the morning of May 5, 2016. It is not known where she is being held.

2. [Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Ru and Son Mr. Guo Jiahao Arrested

Ms. Chen Ru and her son Mr. Guo Jiahao from Tanzhou Town were arrested by officers from the Tanzhou Town 610 Office in August 2015. Their whereabouts are still unknown.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Huizhi Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Liu Huizhi from theLushun District was arrested and taken to the Dalian Drug Rehabilitation Center by officers from the Guangrongjie Police Station on May 11, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. She was transferred to the Dalian Brainwashing Center after she was held in the Drug Rehabilitation Center for five days.

4. [Guang'an City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tang Ermei Arrested

Ms. Tang Ermei was arrested on the evening of May 19, 2016.

5. [Harbin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Xiaoqing Arrested

Ms. Yu Xiaoqing, a teacher at the Harbin Normal Elementary School, was arrested at home on May 6, 2016. Her non-practitioner husband was also arrested.

6. [Feng County, Jiangsu Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Mr. Gao Zhongxiang, Mr. Liu Zunjun, Mr. Liu Nianbin, and Mr. Sun Dunshan from Huankou Town were arrested by officers from the Feng County Police Department on the afternoon of May 13, 2016. Their homes were ransacked. They are being held in the Feng County Detention Center.

7. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Song Shunzhu Detained

Ms. Song Shunzhu was arrested by Yang Yanqiu and other officers from the DeHui City Domestic Security Division on May 13, 2016. The officers confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and printed materials. Ms. Song was held in the detention center for five days.

8. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Aimei, Ms. Xian Hong, and Ms. Hai Zhu were arrested by officers from the Yuchuan Police Station while they were telling people about Falun Gong in Wuxue City on May 19, 2016. Ms. Wang and Ms. Hai are being held in the Wuxue Detention Center. Ms. Xian has returned home.

9. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Mr. He Zhanquan and Mr. Zhang Wei Arrested

Mr. He Zhanquan and Mr. Zhang Wei were arrested by Shanyang Police Department officers on May 18, 2016.

10. [Zhaoyuan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Dai Mingrong Arrested

Mr. Dai Mingrong was arrested by officers from the Zhaoyuan County Domestic Security Division and the Maoxing Police Station at noon on May 20, 2016.

11. [Tianjin] Mr. Liu Haibin on Hunger Strike in Prison

Mr. Liu Haibin was sentenced to four years in prison on March 30, 2016, in the Dongli District Court for suing Jiang Zemin. He filed an appeal, but the Tianjin Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict on May 19, 2016. Mr. Liu will be incarcerated in the near future.

Mr. Liu has been sentenced to prison twice, with terms totaling eight years.

12. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Shaomei Arrested

Ms. Li Shaomei was arrested at home on the morning of May 11, 2016, by Chengguan Police Station officers who claimed they were verifying her lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. She was taken to the police station. The officers confiscated a notebook computer, a printer, Falun Gong books, an MP3 player, and cash. Ms. Li returned home that evening.

13. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Fu Yanfei Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Fu Yanfei was sentenced to three years in prison in the Erdao District Court on the morning of May 20, 2016.

14. [Pizhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Jie Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhang Jie was arrested by domestic security officers in the Pizhou Criminal Police Team in the Police Department, the 610 Office, and the Tushan Police Station on the morning of August 28, 2015. Her home was ransacked. She was held in the Xuzhou Detention Center. Later, she was sentenced to one year and six months in prison. She is being held in the Nantong Women's Prison.

15. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cheng Ying and Mr. He Tao Arrested

Ms. Cheng Ying was arrested at home on the morning of May 19, 2016.

Mr. He Tao was arrested for telling people about Falun Gong in the Tanghezi Farmers Market. His home was ransacked. His whereabouts are unknown.
