(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 2 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 58 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Heishan County, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Zhang Yingdong, Ms. Kou Deying, and Mr. Zhang Yaodong were arrested by officers from the Heishan County Police Station while they were producing Falun Gong informational materials on the evening of April 24, 2016. Ms. Zhang and Ms. Kou were taken to the Jinzhou No. 1 Criminal Detention Center. Mr. Zhang was held in the Heishan Detention Center.

2. [Beihai City, Guangxi Province] Ms. Li Daoqiong Arrested

Ms. Li Daoqiong was arrested at home on May 5, 2016. Her home was ransacked.

3. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Gao Yonghui Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Gao Yonghui was arrested at his daughter's home in the Shuangliu area on May 6, 2016. He is being held in the Xinjin Brainwashing Center.

4. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Wang Dushan Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Dushan, 19, a practitioner's son, does not practice Falun Dafa. He lives in Ganyu District. He was arrested, and was recently secretly sentenced to two years in prison.

5. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Xiurong and Ms. Zhang Xiumei Arrested

Ms. Ma Xiurong and Ms. Zhang Xiumei, from the Xiahuayuan Coal Mine Community, were arrested by the police on the morning of May 18, 2016.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yuan Xiaoman Detained

Ms. Yuan Xiaoman was arrested on May 5, 2016. She was taken to the Yaojia Detention Center.

7. [Baiyin City, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhang Bingwu Remains in Custody

Officers from the Jingyuan County Domestic Security Division of the Police Department, and from the 610 Office climbed over the wall at Mr. Zhang Bingwu's home on May 17, 2016. They arrested Mr. Zhang and his daughter, and ransacked their home. Mr. Zhang remains in custody, but his daughter has returned home.

8. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cao Yuqin Detained

Several officers from the Youngji County 610 Office and the Chengnan Police Station broke into Ms. Cao Yuqin's home and arrested her on the morning of May 11, 2016. She was detained for 15 days. The officers confiscated a notebook computer, a printer, a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, and Falun Gong books.

9. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Yuxiang Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Li Yuxiang, in her fifties, from Dibeitouwangjia Village, Zhangxing Town, Zhaoyuan City, was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Jinling Town Police Station when they were talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at the Jinling Town farmers market on May 14, 2016. She is being held in the Lingnan Brainwashing Center in Zhaoyuan City.

10. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Bai Yinying Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Bai Yinying from Huarong County was arrested on the morning of May 15, 2016, by officials from the Huarong County Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the 610 Office, and officers from the Hexi Police Station. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and printed materials. Ms. Bai was taken to a brainwashing center with a black hood over her head.

Ms. Wang Yanfen from Zhangqiu City was arrested by officers from the Xianggongzhuang Police Station in Zhangqiu City and the Mingshui No. 2 Police Station at noon on May 13, 2016. She is being held in the Jinan City No. 3 Detention Center for ten days of detention.

12. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Pei Liyuan Detained

Ms. Pei Liyuan was arrested by officers from the Huanggezhuang Police Station in the Fengnan District when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at the Xuanzhuang Farmers Market on the morning of May 18, 2016. She was taken to the Fengnan Detention Center for seven days of detention.

13. [Guang'an City, Sichuan Province] Nearly Twenty Practitioners Arrested

Nearly 20 practitioners, who were at a Guang'an Fa-study group, were arrested on the afternoon of May 16, 2016. Seventeen are known to have been arrested, including Mr. Huang Zhihui, Mr. Xu Renwu, Mr. Xu Shengli, Mr. Zeng Xiaobo, Ms. Tang Lihua, Mr. Luo Gaoxiang, Ms. Li Zhaoju, Ms. Chen Zhaoqiong, Mr. Liang Zonglin, Mr. Wei Yuanqing, Mr. Zhang Ming, Ms. Wang, Mr. Li Dayuan, Mr. Liu Yanjing, Ms. Li, Ms. Jing Kaixiu, and Mr. Jiang Heping.

14. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhuang Hua Detained

Ms. Zhuang Hua was arrested at work on May 17, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held in the Rizhao City Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

15. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Ma Zhenmin, Ms. Sun Jinxia, and Mr. Li Wanqing, from Qianweigou Village, Sunhe Township, the Chaoyang District, were arrested while they were hanging Falun Gong informational banners on May 12, 2016.

16. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Shiyi Arrested

Ms. Li Shiyi, in her seventies, was telling a student about Falun Gong at the front door of the Tiangongmiao Elementary School on the morning of May 12, 2016. The student's parents and teacher reported her to the police. Ms. Li was arrested by officers from the Chengnan Police Station. She managed to walk away, and returned home safely.

17. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xin Xiumei Detained

Ms. Xin Xiumei from Haiyang City was arrested when she was telling people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of May 11, 2016. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Fushan Detention Center.

18. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Guan Yongzhi, Ms. Li Ruixiang, and Ms. Wang Tiancui were arrested by officers from the Shibahe Police Station in the Weibin District when they were posting Falun Gong informational stickers on May 11, 2016. The three practitioners are being held in the Baoji City No. 2 Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

19. [Beijing] Eight Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Huairou District Domestic Security Division and the police station arrested eight practitioners on the morning of April 20, 2016.

Ms. Lei Guiqin, Ms. Wu Guoqin, Ms. Liu Jiying, Ms. Jiang Mengmei, Ms. Qiao Ziyi, and Ms. Yang Songyi remain in the Chaoyang District No. 1 Detention Center.

Ms. Wen Yuhong and Mr. Liang Heping were released for failing the physical examination.

20. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Shuzhen Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Liu Shuzhen, 80, from the Ganjingzi District, was sentenced to three years in prison on May 11, 2016 by the Ganjingzi District Court. She was released on bail because of her illness symptoms.

21. [Yongji County, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Shulan, Ms. Zhao Yufen, Ms. Liu Shufang, and Ms. Wang Yanhong were arrested by officers from the Yongji County Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office when they were talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of May 13, 2016. Ms. Liu was brought back home by personnel from the production team where she lives. Ms. Wang Yanhong was released for health reasons. Ms. Wang Shulan and Ms. Zhao are being held in the Yongji County Detention Center.

22. [Tianjin] Mr. Wang Hongdong Arrested

Mr. Wang Hongdong was arrested by the police when he was telling people about Falun Gong on May 17, 2016.

23. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Shihai Arrested

Mr. Li Shihai from Lijiaqudi Village in Renzhao Town was arrested by officers from the Dianbu Town Police Station in Laixi City on the morning of May 17, 2016. The police confiscated a computer and a printer.

24. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Tao Detained

Mr. Wang Tao from Helong Town was arrested and taken to the Changchun No. 4 Detention Center by officials from the Nong'an County Court on May 10, 2016.

25. [Chongqing] Mr. Liu Minghua Arrested

Mr. Liu Minghua, 61, from Shimahe, Jiangbei District, was arrested by people from the 610 Office in Shimahe Neighborhood Comprehensive Management Office, the Shanshuilidu Community, and officers from the Shimen Police Station on May 17, 2016. His whereabouts are unknown.

26. [Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Chang Haihua Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Chang Haihua was arrested at home by officers from the Xinzhou City Police Department on the evening of August 8, 2015. He was tried on December 24, 2015, by the Xinfu District Court. On March 29, 2016 he was sentenced to a four-year prison term. Mr. Chang has appealed his sentence.

27. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Yaping Detained

Ms. Li Yaping from Shanhaiguan District went to the Shanhaiguan Police Department to ask the police to return her computer, cell phone, and other personal belongings. Instead she was arrested and taken to the Qinhuangdao No. 2 Detention Center.
