To What Degree Do You Believe in Master and the Fa

(Minghui.org) The Minghui website published an article “Falun Dafa Practitioners in the Eyes of an Enlightened Being.” I read it many times.

One question in the article really made me think. The divine being recited a quote from Hong Yin Vol. II:

“Calmly reflect on the attachments you haveRemove your human thoughtsand evil will naturally die out”(“Don't Be Sad,” from Hong Yin Vol. II)

He then asked the practitioner how strongly he believed this.

I also asked myself how strongly I believe in the Fa and Master. Recently, I gained some more understandings regarding this question and wanted to share with fellow practitioners.

Before, my belief in the Fa and Master was shallow and superficial. When I read the Fa and saw something my human mind could accept, I would think, “Yes, it is very reasonable. It truly is like this.” If I saw something my human mind couldn't handle, I would find an excuse like, “I am not enlightened to this level of the Fa yet” and I would let it pass.

With such shallow belief, I clumsily overcame some tribulations, both karmic and persecution-related.

Was this a true and strong belief? Now I understand that it was far from strong. One phenomenon is that I met with many obstacles in clarifying the truth to people. I couldn't find enough courage to talk to them about Dafa, even with my relatives and family members.

Master said,

Disciple: When students in the mainland see family or friends experiencing serious illness, they tell the person to recite “Falun Dafa Hao” and assure him that he will be healed.

Master: “Speaking in terms of the present circumstances in the mainland, if the person [who is told that] really has the courage to, in that evil setting, recite it—and even recite it aloud—then he will be healed. (Audience applauds) But, there is no guarantee that it will work if a person recites it in a less oppressive setting. The reason is, when one has the courage to come forth and speak well of Dafa in [a setting] where there is pressure from the evil, it is different from just going around and saying the same thing in America. If you go out in public here and yell, “Falun Dafa Hao!”, even the police might follow your lead and give a wave of support (audience laughs) since there’s no pressure. But that said, if when the person says “Dafa Hao” it comes from his heart, then it will have an effect. Thus, the kind of outcome it has depends on the person’s intent and what he is thinking, as well as the surrounding environment. If circumstances are good, things are relaxed, and there’s no pressure, then it depends on the situation. This is where a person’s heart is the determining factor.”(“Fa Teaching Given at the 2010 New York Fa Conference”)

My problem is that I did not 100 percent believe that reciting “Falun Dafa Hao” (Falun Dafa is Good) and “Zhen-Shan-Ren Hao” (Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good) would heal illness. If I can't believe this unconditionally, how would I be able to convince other people to believe it?

Second, when I encountered interference in cultivation, especially persecution-related interference, I often dealt with it using human methods first, which undermined my belief in the Fa and Master.

Master said,

“Even when an ordinary person shouts out "Falun Dafa is good" today, Master will protect him, since he's shouted those words I can't not protect him amidst the evil. And how much more so am I protecting you cultivators!”(“Teaching and Explaining the Fa at Metropolitan New York Fa Conference”)

I hope fellow practitioners look inward to see if you absolutely believe that Master is protecting you.

Third, I often had a lot of wild thoughts while practicing the exercises. I knew this was not right but I just accepted it as an interference from external factors.

One day, I remembered that I must believe Master and I can't let these wild thoughts interfere with me. I strengthened my belief and the wild thoughts were suppressed quickly.

Fourth, about reciting “Falun Dafa Hao”.

Master said,

“Saying "Dafa hao" is not only effective for ordinary people, but also for Dafa disciples since it clears away the bad things in the mind. When you have every cell in your body saying that Dafa is great, you will find that your entire body feels the reverberations. (Applause) It is the Fa that your mind is invoking, so that's why it is so powerful.”(“Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York”)

I decided that I will recite the verse more often.

To believe in the Fa and Master unconditionally, we can't read the Fa with human notions. We must let our belief of the Fa and Master fill every aspect of our cultivation practice and every part of our lives.

After I gained unconditional belief, I felt much more steadfast in clarifying the truth. My belief is strong because it is no longer a human thought, but rather, it originates from the Fa and Master.

We ought to have 100 percent belief in Master and the Fa.
