Additional Persecution News from China – May 30, 2016 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 4 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 were illegally arrested. Several practitioners seeking to mail letters of complaint regarding Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme Court have met with obstacles.

1. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Suying Sentenced

Ms. Chen Suying was arrested in August 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator. She was later sentenced to a nine-year prison term by Jianping County Court. She was also fined 25,000 yuan. She appealed to a higher court.

2. [Beijing] Ms. An Zhiying Sentenced

Ms. An Zhiying was arrested on August 8, 2015, for having informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was sentenced to a three-year prison term by Chaoyang Court.

3. [Yanling County, Henan Province] Ms. Qiu Guihua Detained

Ms. Qiu Guihua was recently arrested by officers from the Yanling County Domestic Security Division. She is detained at the Xuchang City Detention Center.

4. [Chongqing] Mr. Wang Qianyu Arrested

Mr. Wang Qianyu was arrested by twelve officers on March 11, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. She was detained at the Shuangyu Brainwashing Center and released on May 4.

5. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Lan Qingmei and Mr. Zhang Yousheng were arrested on May 26, 2016.

Ms. Chang Lijun was arrested by about six plainclothes officers on May 27, 2016. Ms. Xia Runtang was also arrested that afternoon.

6. [Bazhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zheng Wencai Detained

Mr. Zheng Wencai was arrested by officers from the Bazhou Domestic Security Division on May 28, 2016. He is detained at the Bazhou Detention Center.

7. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sui Baiqin Detained

Ms. Sui Baiqin was arrested at home by officers including Li Chenglin from the Dengta City Domestic Security Division on May 11, 2016. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, computers, and printers. She is detained at the Liaoyang City Detention Center.

8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Sun Zerong Detained

Mr. Sun Zerong was arrested by officers from the Qiaokou District Police Department on May 23, 2016. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and informational DVDs about the persecution of Falun Gong. He was detained at the Yijiadunjie Police Station and then transferred to the Etouwan Detention Center. He was released that evening due to high blood pressure.

9. [Xinjin County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Lai Bihua Arrested

Ms. Lai Bihua was arrested by Li Peide from the Xinjin County 610 Office and officers from the Xinjin County Police Department on May 19, 2016. She was released that evening.

10. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Lei Tortured

Ms. Wang Lei was sentenced to eight years in prison by the Beijing No. 2 Intermediate Court on February 24 without a trial. She was transferred from the Fangshan District Detention Center to a transfer station on March 10. She was tortured because she refused to renounce Falun Gong. It is likely that she will be taken to Bayan Nur City Women's Prison in Inner Mongolia in June.

11. [Yunmeng County, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Hanming Detained

Mr. Li Hanming was arrested by officers from the Chengnan Police Station on May 12, 2016, for hanging up informational banners about the persecution of Falun Gong. He was detained for 15 days. Then he was transferred to the Yunmeng County Detention Center on May 27.

12. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Yan Ling Detained

Ms. Yan Ling was arrested by officers from the Tongzhou District 610 Office and Domestic Security Division and Chengzhong Police Station on May 26, 2016. She is detained at the Nantong Detention Center.
