(Minghui.org) Ms. Luo Chunrong and Ms. Tu Lin, Falun Gong practitioners from Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, were arrested on March 31, 2016 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are detained in the Nanchang City No. 1 Detention Center, and are facing trial.

Ms. Luo Chunrong and Ms. Tu Lin have been repeatedly persecuted since the Party started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999.

Persecution of Ms. Luo Chunrong

Ms. Luo Chunrong, 67 years old, is retired from the Nanchang City Water Supply Company.

Since the onset of the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, she was illegally arrested three times. She was imprisoned in a forced labor camp for two years and seven months. Her home was ransacked seven times. Her home and cell phones were monitored. Her daughter was laid off and her salary was suspended.

Ms. Luo went to Beijing in December 1999 to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. She was arrested and interrogated by police. A policeman kicked her chest, stomach and private parts with his leather shoes.

She was taken back to Nanchang City and detained in the Nanchang City No. 3 Detention Center for one month. The guard ordered male inmates to brutally beat her. They punched her head with their fists. Police from the Dunzitang Police Station ransacked her home on Chinese New Year's Eve.

She went to Beijing in 2001 to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. She was picked up by the authorities and taken back to Nanchang City and detained in the Nanchang No 3 Detention Center.

Instead of being released, she was transferred to the Provincial Woman Labor Camp for 90 days and forced to attend brainwashing classes. Her home was raided three times. Her husband and daughter's salaries were reduced. Officials extorted 2,000 yuan from her family. Her home was monitored.

Officers from the Dunzitang Police Station arrested her in 2002 and her home was ransacked. She was interrogated all night. She was forced to squat for hours, and if she moved slightly the police would stomp on her toes and grind them with their shoes, causing her unbearable pain.

One month later, she was taken to the Nanchang City Labor Camp for three years of forced labor. She was later transferred to the Provincial Woman's Labor Camp.

Ms. Luo was tortured in the labor camp. She was not allowed to use the toilet, and forced to perform hard labor. She also had to attend brainwashing classes.

She was released in May 2005 due to high blood pressure. Her hair turned completely white, and several of her teeth had fallen out. Her once beautiful and rosy face now looked old and haggard.

For distributing informational materials about Falun Gong, she was again arrested in 2012. Her home was ransacked and the officers confiscated Falun Gong books and a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong.

Officers from the Nanchang City 610 Office, Dunzitang Police Station and Security Department of the Nanchang City Water Supply Company arrived to take her to a brainwashing center on October 22, 2012. She refused to open the door. The officers climbed up the walls for three floors and entered through the balcony windows. They took her to the brainwashing center.

She was arrested yet again in 2013 for distributing Falun Gong materials.

Members of her family have also been repeatedly persecuted. Her daughter was laid off and her family had to leave Nanchang City to make a living.

Ms. Tu Lin Beaten and Insulted

Ms. Tu Lin, 64 years old, is a retired worker from the Jiangxi Province Pharmaceutical Factory.

For not giving up Falun Gong, she was beaten, fined and unlawfully detained. Her family also suffered.

Ms. Tu went to Beijing to peacefully appeal for justice for Falun Gong in December 1999. She was arrested and held in a detention center. Police strip searched her. A policeman kicked her legs brutally.

She was detained for 10 days in Beijing. The detention center confiscated 600 yuan without giving a receipt.

She was taken to the Nanchang No. 3 Detention Center. The drug addict inmates in her cell beat her when she tried to do the Falun Gong exercises. Police from the Dunzitang Police Station released her 10 days later after they extorted 6,000 yuan from her family.

Ms. Tu's younger daughter was recommended into a postgraduate program, without having to take an exam. She was disqualified because her mother practiced Falun Gong.

The police and people from the residential neighborhood committee often harass her and her neighbors shunned her family. This seriously effected her relationship with her family.
