Additional Persecution News from China – May 7, 2016 (29 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 26 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 19 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 43 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Xia Officially Placed Under Arrest

Ms. Liu Xia was arrested on April 1, 2016. She was officially placed under arrest in early April. She is being held in the No. 505 Ward in the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center.

2. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Shuzhen and Ms. Zhang Yanqin Harassed

Zhang Pingxian and other officers from the Baoshan Police Station harassed Ms. Wang Shuzhen and Ms. Zhang Yanqin separately on the afternoon on May 5, 2016. The officers questioned them about their lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, the former secretary general of the Chinese Communist Party. Prior to this, the officers had been to Ms. Wang's home to get her to sign paperwork, which she refused to do.

3. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Cao Zhenghong Arrested

Mr. Cao Zhenghong from the Railway 19th Bureau was arrested at work by officers from the 610 Office in the Development Zone Police Department at noon on May 5, 2016.

4. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zheng Faxin Arrested

Mr. Zheng Faxin from Sunji Town was arrested by four officers from the Sunji Town Police Station when telling people about Falun Gong in the Sunji Town farmers market on the morning of May 5, 2016.

5. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Xueying Detained

Ms. Zhang Xueying was arrested by officers from the Guangming Police Station in the Dongchang District on the morning of April 24, 2016. Two days later, she was transferred to Tumen City to be detained.

6. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Zhang Shougang Detained

Mr. Zhang Shougang was arrested some time between February 24 and 26, 2016. Someone witnessed him being arrested and taken to the Domestic Security Division. The Domestic Security Division and the police station have not told his family where he is.

7. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wang Yuping Detained

Ms. Wang Yuping was arrested when telling people about Falun Gong in the Lianhu District in Xi'an City on May 1, 2016. She was taken to the Sanyao Detention Center in the Chang'an District for 15 days of administrative detention. Her family did not find out until May 4, 2016.

8. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Yuxi Arrested

Ms. Zhou Yuxi was reported to the police on the morning of May 5, 2016, for telling people about Falun Gong . She was arrested by officers from the Chengnan Police Station. She was taken to the police station and released that afternoon.

9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Domestic Security Division in the Caidian District Police Department arrested Ms. Peng Lumei, Mr. Wang Sheng, Ms. Wang Guilan, and Mr. Li Xianqi, all from Hanchuan City, on February 24, 2016. Ms. Wei Cui'e from Hanchuan was arrested at the train station on April 26, 2016.

10. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Seven Practitioners Harassed

Seven or eight people from the Hanting District Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the 610 Office, and the Police Department broke into the homes of Ms. Guan Fanglan, Ms. Fu Chunxiu, and Ms. Guan Yunlai in Gezhai Village, Gaoli Town on the morning of April 20, 2016, and harassed them. They then went to homes of Mr. Zhang Shucheng, Ms. Liu Chunmei, Ms. Gao Qiying, and Mr. Zhang Qingjun in Hougou Village to harass them.

11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Xueqing and Ms. Li Jinling Arrested

Ms. Ma Xueqing, 47, and Ms. Li Jinling, in her sixties, were arrested by officers from the Guilin Police Station on the evening of May 3, 2016. The officers broke into Ms. Li's home and ransacked it at noon on the following day.

12. [Lishu County, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Xiuying Detained

Ms. Ma Xiuying, from the No. 1 Commune of Xiuyan Village in Baishan Township, was arrested by officers from the Baishan Township Police Station, the Lishu County 610 Office, the Lishu County Domestic Security Division, and the Siping 610 Office on the morning of April 15, 2016. The officers confiscated copies of Minghui Weekly, Pure Insight Weekly, and other printed materials. Ms. Ma was taken to the Siping Detention Center.

13. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Bao Guiqin Detained

Ms. Bao Guiqin from the Fularji District was arrested by officers from the Beixing Police Station in the Fularji District while she was telling people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of May 2, 2016. The officers ransacked her home the following day and found nothing. Ms. Bao was then taken to the Qiqihar City Detention Center for ten days of detention.

14. [Chongqing] Chongqing Women's Prison Mistreats Practitioners

Ms. Zhao Sifang, Ms. Wang Aihua, Ms. Zhang Xianbi, Ms. Li Yuting, and Ms. Qin Huaxian are still being mistreated in the Chongqing Women's Prison. Guards instigated criminals to viciously beat practitioners and to use brutal torture to try to force practitioners to give up their belief. Ms. Zhao and Ms. Wang have been constantly watched for an extended period of time. They were tortured and injured, and allowed only two hours of sleep every night. They were often punched and kicked by four or five inmates at a time, who were assigned by prison authorities to closely monitor practitioners. The six inmates would pull a practitioner's hair, push her down, and hit her hard all over.

15. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xie Deyan Passes Away Due to Persecution

Ms. Xie Deyan, 61, from the Hanyang District, passed away in fear of persecution at 4:00 o'clock on May 5, 2016.

16. [Ning'an City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Fengchun Arrested

Ms. Wang Fengchun was arrested on May 6, 2016.

17. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Chunlan Placed Under Criminal Detention

Ms. Wang Chunlan, from Bohou Village, Dongzhuang Township, the Ninghe District, was arrested while telling people about Falun Gong on the morning of May 4, 2016. She was placed under criminal detention at the Ninghe District Detention Center. The officers from the police station and the Domestic Security Division ransacked her home twice that morning. They confiscated dozens of printouts, three bundles of Minghui Weekly, and DVDs. Ms. Wang's husband was also arrested. He was released that evening.

18. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Two Practitioners Arrested, Two Practitioners Harassed

Several Yilan County police officers harassed and arrested practitioners on May 6, 2016. Those known to have been harassed include Ms. Yu Fengxia, Mr. Zhang Guodong, Ms. Guo Jingfen, and Ms. Zhao Xiang.

Several officers from the Domestic Security Division in the Yilan County Police Department and the Sandaogang Town Police Station broke into Ms. Guo Jingfen's home on the morning of May 6, 2016. Ms. Guo jumped from the second floor, but officers chased after and caught her. The officers confiscated a notebook computer and 6,000 yuan in cash. They also carried away a safety deposit box. Ms. Zho Xiang, who was visiting Ms. Guo, was also arrested.

19. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liu Jing Arrested

Mr. Liu Jing was arrested at work by officers from the 610 Office on May 6, 2016.

20. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Lequn Township Police Station in the Shuangcheng District broke into the home of Ms. Fu Wenpei and her husband Mr. Yin Chengfang in Youhao Village and arrested the couple on the evening of May 6, 2016. They also arrested Ms. Yuan Qin and her husband Mr. Guan Hongjun in Fuzhi Village. Ms. Fu was released that evening at 9:00 p.m. The officers broke into homes of Ms. Wang Xiumei, Ms. Yin Yumei, and Mr. Wang Daping, but failed to arrest them, as they were not home at the time.

21. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Mr. Yi Defeng Detained

Mr. Yi Defeng was arrested at home by Gucheng Police Station officers on the evening of April 29, 2016. His home was ransacked, and he is still in a detention center.

22. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Shi Zhongkui and Daughter Arrested

Ms. Shi Zhongkui and her daughter were arrested on the afternoon of May 5, 2016, and her home was ransacked. Her daughter has an eight-month-old child that is still breastfeeding. Her daughter has been released on bail. Ms. Shi is being held in the Linyi Detention Center.

23. [Beijing] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Sun Zhigang and his wife Ms. Wang Suxia, from Zhangshanying Town in Yanqing County, were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Yanqing County Police Department and the Zhangshanying Police Station on the morning of May 5, 2016. The officers confiscated a notebook computer, a CD burner, DVDs, and supplies. Mr. Sun is being held in the Yanqing County Detention Center. Ms. Wang is being held in the Changping Detention Center.

Mr. Wang Lianyi and Ms. Lang Dongyue, from Dongxingyuan Village, Yanqing Town, Yanqing County, were arrested at home by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Yanqing Police Department on the morning of May 5, 2016.

Ms. Ding Xiaoyi and her mother Ms. Liu Jinrong, from Xiguan Village, Yanqing Town, were arrested at home by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Yanqing Police Department on the morning of May 5, 2016. The officers confiscated two notebook computers, three printers, Falun Gong books, and supplies.

Ms. Yang Xiulan from Kangzhuang Village in Yanqing County was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Yanqing Police Department on the morning of May 5, 2016. She was released that day.

24. [Qi County, Henan Province] Ms. Hou Jialing Detained

Ms. Huo Jialing was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Qi County Police Department on the morning of April 27, 2016. She was taken to the Kaifeng City Detention Center. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated two notebook computers, a printer, and 1,000 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them.

25. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Pengpeng and Ms. Guo Baozhu Arrested

Ms. Wang Pengpeng and Ms. Guo Baozhu were stopped and arrested by a 110 (911 emergency) Response Unit vehicle on the afternoon of April 21, 2016. The were taken to the Jiantong Police Station in the Yuhua District. The officers ransacked their homes that evening. The officers wanted to take blood and DNA samples, along with fingerprints, from them the following day, but the two practitioners refused to cooperate. The detention center did not admit them because they failed the physical exam. The women returned home on the evening of April 23, 2016.

26. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Lei Weifeng Detained

Mr. Lei Weifeng from Leijiashuiying Village in Taoxu Town was arrested by officers from the Shijing Town Police Station while they were distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Shijing Town in Fei County on May 4, 2016. He was taken to the Fei County Detention Center.

27. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Han Wei Arrested

Mr. Han Wei was arrested at a corporate office on May 5, 2016.

28. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Yao Qiuyuan and Ms. Tang Wenzhen Arrested

Elderly Ms. Yao Qiuyuan and Ms. Tang Wenzhen were arrested on the morning of April 6, 2016, for telling people about Falun Gong. They were taken to the Binyang Police Station in the Guanshanhu District. The police took written notes while interrogating them. The officers searched their bags, body searched them, took blood samples from them, and photographed them.

In the afternoon, a dozen or so officers handcuffed both women and took them first to Ms. Tang's home and then to Ms. Yao's home, and ransacked the homes. They confiscated a DVD drive, an MP3 player, Falun Gong books, and copies of Minghui Weekly. In the evening, the officers again took the women to the police station for interrogation and took notes. Afterwards, the women were held in a room for criminal suspects.

Ms. Tang and Ms. Yao were taken to a hospital for physicals that night. They were released the following morning.
