(Minghui.org) Ms. Liu Gangli has been subjected to various forms of abuse since her transfer to Liaoning Province Women's Prison last November.
The resident of Shenyang City was sentenced to three years in April 2015 for distributing information about the persecution of Falun Gong. She filed an appeal, but Judge Cao Shijun from Shenyang Intermediate Court issued a decision three months later to uphold the original verdict, without a hearing with her defense lawyer.
Ms. Liu was sent straight to the Intensive Correctional Unit following her arrest in February 2014. She was forced to read, listen to, and watch materials slanderous to Falun Gong.
The guards incentivized inmates to physically abuse Ms. Liu by promising term reductions. One convict named Yu Shuli hit her so hard in the face that the bruises didn't subside until days later.
Ms. Liu was also deprived of sleep and subjected to various forms of humiliation. The guards once stripped her naked in front of other people.
Ms. Liu is not alone. Several other Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned there have also been subjected to brainwashing and torture.
